No: John McGlyn, Boolan, anyone with OF connections
Hear what they've got to say: The boy that Dundee just shafted, anyone with no OF connections

Have to say I'm pretty mystified as to why some people want Smith to take the job.

I am not that excited by Smith. He was shafted with Dundee, but not sure he set the heather on fire??

How about we see what David Bingham is up to? If he'd fancy it? Just a suggestion.

Bingo?!? Please make it happen! Hero!
Please no Jimmy Calderwood though.
Craig Levein was at the game on Sat - wonder if he's lodged his interest?

He definitely got off to a good enough start. I reckon finances might dictate we stick with him. Not only that but he knows the players, they seem to like him and he's got a wealth of experience. Depends if he wants it mind you.

There was that article on him, relating his experiences in the US, he is genuinely excited about his vision for Scottish football with the experiences he has. I for one would like to see him given some time, no commitment, no sacking, just give him a wee bit longer to see if it could work. He's got something about him, hes got a great relationship with the players, modern coaching methodology, and wants to be here, why not?

From tonight's forum there have been some high profile names applied for the job.

Aye - a decent number of applicants that's been narrowed down slightly and the list has been passed to all of the guys on the board who'll compile a shorter list of who they fancy before coming together and seeing who's name pops up the most.
Gordon actually said that there's some 'unbelievable' names in the list which just goes to show the sort of guys who are out of football just now and desperately looking to get back in the game.

Did the board enlighten by saying what they are looking for in the new manager?

If I was a manager seeking gainful employment, I would consider the amount of resources available. A team with a larger crowd and a larger cash flow that that crowd should generate would be more appealing. With more ready capital a manger can exert his wishes and plans. His movement may make getting the right manager harder for Livingston

Also someone not afraid of adapting to the situation - i.e. when something goes wrong do something to fix it

I don't know about anyone else but I want someone who is prepared to continue the same sort of football we've been playing, prepared to give the youth players a fair chance and ideally stick around if things go well and other clubs sniff about. Is a rookie manager or experienced guy the right solution?

Big appointment and we need some stability around the football management - big appointment for the board & hopefully they will get it right. What's Mark Proctor doing these days??

I am fairly sure he's first team coach at Middlesbrough. What about Alec Cleland?

I'd have Cleland & he may feel he has some unfinished business at Livi?
