I’ve been impressed by Morton this season and it’ll be a tough game. Although we lost on Tuesday, we should have got at least a draw so no need to be downhearted. It’s a huge game for both sides. A win for Norton closes the gap but a win for us almosr guarantees a play-off spot. With three of the other four games looking really tough, a win on Saturday is looking crucial. 2-1 Livi.

Morton will win this one. They need it more & will want to beat us for the first time this season.
But I hope I am wrong

Well we've made the play-offs, fantastic performance all round. Morton have a pretty strong team, but we fought well and I felt we deserved the victory. I've not enjoyed a season quite as much as this one for a while. Excited for the football to come, as we have a fantastic chance of winning our games. Even if we don't make it, the fight, desire and ability of whatever starting 11 DH opts for should make for a great spectacle.

Glad I was wrong, but until we equalised I was right on the money. Equaliser changed the game in our favour. Then we replaced Hardie with Cadden & Morton took control again & got level. Strange substitution that one. It could have gone either way at 2-2 but we got their in the end.
Technically we could lose all our remaining games & drop to 5th so we are not officially over the line for the play offs yet. But you're right it's been a great season & we still have some games to enjoy before the season is over.

His contract is up at Ibrox with no sign of Rangers offering him a new contract however a certain Mr Hopkins is in the same boat. Its 3 points but we have some tough games hopefully St Mirren can win on Tuesday night and then Saturday as the title is won we might benefit. However long shot if St Mirren lose on Tuesday and we can muster a win on Saturday with only 3 games to go after imagine if we won all remaining games and the Saints lost theirs we would be champions....well least we can dream!!!

The word you are looking for is "lose" - if we LOSE each of our remaining games. Loose is the opposite of tight or the opposite of restrained. It can also be synonymous with release but it has absolutely nothing in common with defeat. And it's not quite as simple as you describe; if we LOSE our remaining games & Morton win theirs, we will finish below Morton, however for us to finish 5th also requires Dunfermline & United to win 7 & 10 points respectively (or 6 & 9 if they can overturn the GD) I'm not sure if they both have to play Morton again but even if they do & Morton win them, they both still have sufficient games to surpass us if we were to LOSE each of our remaining games.

Who is this Mr Hopkins of whom you speak? Do you perchance mean Mr David Hopkin (without the 's') current manager/head coach of Livingston FC & if so why would Rangers even think about offering him a contract? I can see why you seem surprised that they are not, so far, offering Hardie a contract but fail to see the logic in your concern at Rangers not offering our manager a contract thus putting him in the same boat as Hardie? Or did you perchance mean that Hopkin is in a similar contractual situation at Livingston to Hardie's contractual situation at Rangers? Sorry to be a pedant but I'm bored.

If we loose each of the remaining 4 games and Morton win their games we finish 5th. While I respect your pessimism, the fact is that the win yesterday was monumental as it pretty much brought us as certain of a play-off place as you can be, without it being mathematically impossible of being caught. Auldnick is right, for your pessimism to come true we will need to lose every game, Morton will need to win every game, and both Dunfermline and Dundee Utd will need to win enough games tp catch us. If you want the probabilty of that happening, pop down to the bookies and shove an ACCA on, you'll be a very rich Livi fan if that happens. (Just shove a quid on Brechin to stop us earning a point and you'll be doing okay). If we had lost to Morton then the odds of them catching us would have been much shorter, and I would have been agreeing with you. JS said on a thread last week that he was 'looking forward to the play-offs' and nobody shot him down in flames!! And that was before we won the 6 pointer yesterday (I know it's only 3 in case you want to be touchy) against the most likely team capable of challenging us. I suppose by the same logic St Mirren can be caught? But then as we're using the same pessimism, that doesn't apply! Perhaps we could take it one further and even when it's mathematically impossible shout out 'No we're no safe', because the SFA might enforce a points deduction on us for the signing of Rory Hamilton? Completely understand the need to not be complacent, but the scale of the victory yesterday means we're a baw hair away, and it would take a miracle - or an abuse of power, for us to fall short now.

I'll be really surprised if we don't finish second now, I reckon four more points will be enough for us to do that.
I doubt Utd will win more than seven more points from the fixtures they have left, and I think that's being generous, so I can't see them even catching up to what we're on just now.
The Pars are six behind with nine to play for, their fixtures are all winnable so we need four more points to be sure, Brechin, ICT and Utd should be enough to get four or five points anyway, and St Mirren may suffer from a hangover of winning the league on Tuesday night so we may even get something there too.
Anyway, i'm really confident we'll finish second.
It was an important win yesterday, after a slow start I thought we were looking the better team and could easily have been out of sight but for Gaston pulling off a few good saves, Hardie being subbed made it a bit more difficult though, but Frizzell coming on gave us an injection of energy to push on for the winner. Lithgow was my man of the match with his throw in setting up our first and two powerful headers scoring our other two, he's been fantastic for us this season. Also looked a stonewaller of a penalty when Thompson was fouled by Harkins in the penalty box, I've watched the highlights again and haven't changed my mind, thankfully that bad refereeing decision (again) didn't cost us this time.

I was sure that we had guaranteed the playoffs? Rafa tweeted as much last night but maybe he/we're both mistaken?
Anyway, great win! Took real guts to come from behind, then be pegged back and then also to work so hard for the winner and 3 points!

He was the only person in the stadium who didn't think it was an absolute nailed on stick on dead cert of a foul in the box. Clown!

It's all mathematics Pedro. Technically we can still finish 5th but it would need a ridiculous chain of events for that to happen as I outlined earlier.
Harkins got away with much thuggery last time & yesterday was no different. It's like the refs are scared to penalise him.

[br At what point, just making sure that you understand my question here, do I mention the Mr H is going to be offered a contract by Rangers? I clearly pointed out that our Manager is out of contract as in the same situation as Ryan. Perhaps I should have said to make it crystal clear for those to understand that Mr David Hopkin, Football Manager of Livingston Football Club is out of contract shortly. Maybe then it would have been a more easier statement for you to understand. I shall in future be careful when I quote you in (which as Im bored and I find your comments almost amusing if not a little juvenile) future to write it in under fives english then we all be clear. So to clarify, for those reading this, it would appear that our Striker on loan from Glasgow Rangers Football Club, name of Mr Ryan Hardie, is (or has) come to the end of his contractural agreement with Glasgow Rangers Football Club. If this in fact the case then it would great to be able to keep him or if he is offered another contract by Glasgow Rangers Football club then if he were to be available for a loan period again (that would be Glasgow Rangers football club agreeing a loan deal with another football club such as Livingston football club) then wouldnt that just be super?

Ooh I'm cut to the quick.
Look, it's simple & it's not what I think it's basic English on the spelling/grammar & basic maths on the scenario that would mean we finish 5th.
In reality as I just said to Pedro, it would take a ridiculous chain of events for that to happen.
And it looks like I really struck a nerve on the other post, hilarious. I even apologised for being a pedant in that one so that you'd know I wasn't serious. But thanks for quoting the very bit you want clarified... Which I think you'll find I did actually explain in basic English. You state Hardie will be out of contract at Rangers & not being offered a new one come the end of the season & then say that Hopkin is in the same boat.
I know exactly what you meant but your choice of wording was such that "the same boat" = "Will be out of contract at Rangers & not being offered a new one" - that is the "boat" that Hardie is in so by your own words you have put Hopkin in the same "boat".
As I said, I was bored at the time, so I picked on you to see if I could wind you up & you didn't disappoint. It was very naughty of me & I shall sit in the corner for a few minutes & consider my actions.
Oh and before I go.... Please in which universe does the English language allow "more easier"? Easy, easier, easiest. Or are you just showing you have mastered the under fives English you refer to?

Aye anyway, getting back to football, four points from our last four games will probably be enough for us to secure second place.
Looks like the Championship play offs teams are going to be;
2nd. Livingston 3rd. Dunfermline. 4th. Dundee Utd/Morton.
My money would be on Morton pipping Utd for fourth place, their fixtures look easier. The Premiership team is looking like a battle between Partick Th and Ross County, but i'd absolutely love it if Dundee finished eleventh for their play off spot.
