Had to leave after about 20 minutes due to a hefty bout of the flu, sounds like I missed a great game. Obviously I'm a bit limited in what I saw but it's good to hear Sparky back on the goal trail. Three games in hand on the top two and if we picked up 9 points in them, things could get pretty interesting.

It was 10 to five on my watch when we scored, not sure when we kicked off, great game, feels like a victory and we deserved it.
Not sure about the silly passing from McNeil and the defenders near the end, nearly playing ourselves into trouble when we played so well.

With the SPL enjoying a brief winter break, the spotlight has been temporarily shifted to the lower leagues and these two teams combined to put on an entertaining display that would have found favour with any neutrals who had chosen to travel out to Almondvale to take in a game, the teams sharing four goals in a match that did not stint on moments of drama or excitement.

SPL challengers serve up hugely entertaining fare
REPORTS of our game’s demise may have been slightly exaggerated.
With so much still being mulled over with regards league reconstruction and the widespread assertion that change is needed to breathe new life into our ailing national sport, these teams made the most of the opportunity afforded them by the SPL winter shutdown to serve up a match which had a little bit of everything and a massive helping of entertainment.
And this in a league that remains the most tightly contested in terms of deciding the title. So much for a fear factor: with so much still at stake these teams showed that passing, fluid football can be successful as well as entertaining. In front of Livingston’s biggest crowd of the campaign (1,762), both sides deserve credit for the way they kept the ball on the deck and provided the kind of football that warms the heart.

I thought yesterday's game was good entertainment overall and the draw was the least we deserved after what we put into it. Partick Thistle are still my favourites to win the league but I thought we made them look very ordinary in the second half. For me it was one of Tony's best chances for us and overall the midfield functioned quite well. Sparky deserved his goal for his workrate alone, which was fantastic for the whole game. I feel we are still noticeably weak in both full back positions, whereas as Thistle were much stronger than us in these areas. Calum Booth doesn't cut the mustard for me at all. He's not too bad going forward, but he's hopeless defensively and the amount of times he was caught up field yesterday could have cost us. There's maybe a case for bring back the young boy Connor MacDonald and pushing Booth into a wide midfield position.

Thought a draw was a fair result over the 90 minutes. Partick seemed to panic a bit more in the second half and begun to lump the ball forward more. Thought we stuck to our guns, kept the ball on the deck and tried to play football and got the reward with a late equaliser.
Tony's goal was an absolute screamer and McNulty's was a cracking hit too. Given we've lost to Partick twice already this season, it was good to improvement on that and take something from them this time round.
Top save from McNeil at 2-1 to stop them going 3-1 up. Thought Andreu was our best player - arguably his best showing in a Livi shirt too.
A good point to add to the tally - hopefully we can improve on that with all three next week.

Thought Morton came on and put on one of his best displays, getting to the by-line and pinging in some decent crosses, so unlucky with his brilliant free kick rattling the bar! Agree with that one. He looked comfortable on the ball and gave us something different when running at players. The passing game was great but because PT were expecting us to keep passing, I think he took them by surprise by being a bit more direct. Free-kick was a screamer - so unlucky that it never went in. I hope he gets a goal soon though as it'll maybe help him win fans over a bit more.

I don't mind Morton. It hasn't really came off much but he definitely tries to make things happen when he comes on. He's not scared to have a shot either which is never a bad thing. I think it's going to take an injury/suspension for him to grab a few consecutive starts though - time will tell.
