Stuffy opponents, expect a parked bus.... 1-1
Unless of course those of you who claim Rankine is still pulling the strings can have a word in his ear to get his lady friend who is or was in charge at East Fife to have a word in the team's ear to get them to lie down? Might as well make use of the connection he has/had there which bit us a couple of seasons back eh?

Best to draw a veil over that performance today, abysmal defending all over the park and 3 gifted goals. What pissed me off more was the conflicting messages coming from the bench from the coaching staff, one telling a player to " go in" the other saying the opposite on set pieces ,particularly corners. Surely that's what you work in training and players should know their roles when we are on the offensive. Sure there will be other upsets during the season but it was sore to watch again in front of another good away support.

Brutal, brutal, brutal.
Easy goals to lose, sloppy goals to long ball football. Didn't really look like coming back to be honest.
Hopefully just a blip, onto next week.

Defensive omni-shambles in that first half. It was like a re-run of that disastrous play-off game last season against Stranraer.
Halkett,Crighton,Lithgow and Kelly all badly at fault for all three goals. Worst display I've seen from Kelly since he signed.
Up front we were a bit toothless apart from a short spell after we scored when I thought we might just work our way back into it.
Hopefully that's a one-off because any further displays like that at the back and we'll struggle to keep ourselves in the promotion race.
Although he didn't affect the result, that was one d*ck of a refereee today. Some very very strange decisions, mostly against Livi. The red cards are still a mystery to me. Even the East Fife players looked a bit surprised at them. If livi feel strongly enough they should appeal but no doubt it'll just be accepted.
The team need to get this game out of their system pronto and get that defence sorted out.
A decent turn out today from the fans who deserved a lot better than was served up.

Really poor first half. Allowing tad ball to bounce is such a schoolboy error. Happened three times in the first half. The first red card was a mystery. Looked like a good hard tackle. The second red card was an easy decision - a clear elbow (off the ball) by Lithgiw. No appeal. The referee, like the wind, had a howler! Their number 10 should have had a yellow card when he held on to the ball to prevent us from taking a throw. Cadden should have had a caution for a clear shirt pull. There were some bizarre decisions that left everyone confused and bemused. Their number 9 fouled every time the ball came towards our defence - including for their third goal when he barged Kelly - and got away with it all the time. I'm not condoning Lithgow's elbow, but understand why he was frustrated. I was even more frustrated.

Just watched the East Fife highlights (really good they are too!).
This on loan The Rangers keeper that we've got in goals isn't up to much is he? He's all over the place! DJ would have been ripped up for arse paper for less by some Livi 'fans'.
Send the duffer back to The Rangers, is my opinion. We couldn't do any worse with a young Livi goalkeeper earning much-valued game experience in this division.

The young kid from Rangers has been nothing short of brilliant since he has came to us Pedro, if you're judging DJ's years of tragic goalkeeping against this boy having one bad game then you're completely nuts, he's made top class saves every week to keep us infront in games. He isn't the Scotland u21 goalkeeper for no reason, we are lucky to have him.
This young team is one of the best I've seen in years. They have been fantastic and exciting to watch, they had a bad game every team does. We must back them and keep positive. Keep the faith 👍👍👍

The young kid from Rangers has been nothing short of brilliant since he has came to us Pedro Not in the games I've seen him play. This on-loan The Rangers keeper is no better than the other duffer (from Dundee Utd if I remember correctly?) that Hopkins and Martindale promoted above DJ last season who was a bomb scare from the start of his time here to the finish, in my opinion. Anyway, I thought the 'one bad game' was supposed to be the loss away to part-time Queens Park?

Yeah, but in your opinion DJ was a good keeper and while he was pretty decent during the great escape and cup winning season, he began last season as if he'd never played in goal in his life, couldn't position a wall, shied away from crosses faster than a speeding vampire and couldn't kick for peanuts. He was guaranteed to start every game and as a result he at best stagnated. Then when McCallum came in he should have upped his game in training to make it at the very least a difficult decision but instead he sat on the bench and made the decision easy. When McCallumm's first spell ended he should have grabbed the opportunity with both hands but he spilled it like the crosses he was failing to deal with.
The ONLY thing in which he was ahead of McCallum and Kelly on was saving pens.

Pedro don't disagree on the McCallum side of things mate, so unpredictable and couldn't trust him apart from saving us at Falkirk with the late pen save. I don't see how you can say this about Kelly thou, I can think of Brechin last week a cracking save to keep us ahead at 1-0 and the same against Stranraer to keep us in the lead. The young laddy had a shocker at the weekend but he's not the best in Scotland for no reason. (Clearly part of a very small minority that rated DJ because of how long he was at us but he was brutal and any footballing fan could see it). When we have a defeat like this then this is where us as fans have to be at our best and support the team. Queen's Park we battered if you watched the game Pedro chance after chance, we are a point off top with Alloa and Brechin still to play one another. I believe in Hopkin, I believe in the team, we need to be positive and think of how well we have done instead of picking the negatives out of everything. Think of the positives and how much we have improved instead of always being negative!!!

The on loan keeper at East Fife looked a better goalie at the weekend. In saying that Kelly did nothing wrong at Queens Park Pedro. He's had a bad game at the weekend that's all. He's made a number of good saves in other games.

Sorry but Kelly has certainly not been brilliant and is certainly not the best keeper in Scotland.
His kicking is an improvement on many we've had recently and he does at least communicate with his defence in set pieces but he's a very poor shot stopper and not the greatest positional sense.
Didn't particularly rate McCallum but this guy is worse.
As for the East Fife game he was directly responsible for the second and third goals (closely followed by the jogging Halkett).

Personally find it hard to judge such a young team after 7 league games and how well they have done for us in a short space of time. Cadden was a real positive at the weekend. The back 3 and goalkeeper were outstanding against Alloa and they weren't made out to be the best in Britain then so because they were all terrible against East Fife I don't think we should make them out to be the worst in Britain now. Kelly's shot stopping has been excellent apart from the horrendous weekend he had. He looks streets ahead of McCallum and DJ putting the weekend aside. Lithgow and Crichton will come good aswell, with Buchanan and Mullen up front we will always score goals we just need to tighten up at the back.

Kelly made a fantastic save low to his left hand post just before HT against Brechin, it was some reactions to get down to it so quickly too, also made a top class save against Alloa from a free kick that was heading in the top corner, DJ would never have gotten to that, he was hopeless at positioning himself for free kicks. A bit silly to say he should go back to The Rangers just because of one bad game where his defence was shocking too.
Don't know what happened to us on Saturday there, Alloa and Brechin played direct over the top balls like East Fife and we handled them well enough but we were hopeless against East Fife. Second half we were better but the damage was done and it was too much to come back from. Wish we had Insall on loan from Hibs instead of Allen, now that is a player we'd be as well sending back, Allen has done sod all for us and is a waste of a place on our subs bench, we'd be better giving one of our Development players a chance.

Some good news, Miller's red card has been rescinded after Livi appealed against it. Longridge's yellow was a joke too but that can't be appealed, the East Fife player stumbled into him and fell on top of him, Kelly was fouled for their third goal too when Insall jumped into him, even more annoying when the ref blew for a foul when the East Fife keeper dropped the ball earlier but deemed it ok when our keeper was knocked out the way by Insall. The referee was shocking all game, should be demoted to officiating in junior league games.
