This is the sort of banana skin that has tripped us up historically. Coming off the back of big wins against two of our supposed biggest rivals in the league, facing one of the so-called lesser teams has the potential to stop us in our tracks. Therefore, a strong, professional performance with pace and width is needed. Home win 3-0.

Important to get ahead otherwise they will probably sit in and make things difficult for us.

As the full timers we should be looking to win comfortably against part time journeymen. Can't see it panning out any other way based on league results so far.

As full timers we should have taken care of part time journeymen teams last season...but didn't.
Different season, largely different team playing an entirely better style of football....so hopefully they don't fall foul of their predecessors' failings

As long as the players don't get complacent we should win this game pretty comfortably. Expecting it to be a bit harder to score than our first two games right enough, can see Stenny sitting in to frustrate us, so might not be as high scoring a game. 2-0 would do me fine. Mon the Lions.

As full timers we should have taken care of part time journeymen teams last season...but didn't Cheap digs doesn't do you proud So says the man who posted this on the summer-comings-goings thread during the close season: "We're Livi fans we'll be the last to know. Don't worry everything is like a nice bunch of roses and nothing to worry about down Livi FC way Keep buying your season tickets. Ask no questions and don't worry the Fans forum is months away." But more to the point; since when was posting a factual statement having a cheap dig & if you read my views on the Full time/part time debate elsewhere you would know that I don't see that there is as much difference between the two set ups as most people think; therefore my post is actually also suggesting that FT or PT isn't indicative of actual ability. Furthermore there is even less likelihood of there being a massive difference in fitness levels at this stage in the season as everyone is only a few weeks into their training regimes & teams with a large turnover of players are still gelling. So rather than trying to have a dig at me (& failing spectacularly thanks to a lack of understanding) why don't you actually contribute to the debate with some reasoned argument?

another great display from the team, should have won by a lot more, only disappointed that there should have been a lot more fans supporting the team as their support can help keep the momentum going

Another fantastic performance , stand out players for me was Bryne and Mullen. Danny looks really confident just now and playing brilliant. Bryne was my motm he showed class every time he got ball , some of the tackles on him today were terrible. Cadden looked a lot brighter today than last week to. Tough game next week at Queen's Park

Byrne, Miller & Longridge & Pittman were all stand outs for me. Mullen had his best game for a very long time and has been having a decent start to the season. Everyone played their part. Looked a very soft pen to me and a pity we couldn't keep a clean sheet as a result.
Thankfully we didn't take the foot off the gas at 2-0 this week.
I didn't think Hoppy would get us playing such entertaining stuff but credit where it is due, he seems to have put his stamp on the side now and has decent options off the bench. That said I'm not convinced by Orr yet and saw Allan for the first time, so will give him the benefit of the doubt for now.

Pittman has really taken this league by storm, definite candidate for our PoTY already. Mullen is on fire just now too, and Buchanan is only one goal behind him, great competition going on between the three of them for top goal scorer. Wonderful balls in for both of Mullen's goals but the first one from Crighton was unbelievable, especially from a centre back.
I know Stenny were poor but it was great seeing us passing the ball around like that and dominating the game all the way through, just a wee slip up at the death giving away the penalty to spoil our clean sheet but still pleasing to go back to the top of the league.
Alloa are pushing us on too so don't see our players going into a game and not being up for it, they'll be wanting to keep pushing on to be ahead of Alloa.

I don't think pitman had a great game yesterday but he worked hard. He was much better against Stranraer but good goal again

Don't forget the pass from Lithgow to Crighton before the latter crossed it in.
Pittman is doing a power of work every game, he is getting beyond the striker(s) and helping out in defence, he is winning balls in midfield and creating chances with his passes and unselfish running. Byrne and Miller don't have the same energy but are also very effective. Byrne's nutmeg was sweet but he got clattered for it and the boy that did it got away with it.

Yeah it was a blatant deliberate foul for Byrne taking the mickey out of him, can't have players showing skill in Scottish football, doesn't go down well with the cluggers in our game. Halkett got a few dull ones from the Stenny cluggers too.

Another relatively easy win, yesterday, by the sounds of things.
Are we that good or is a case of the standard of the other teams in this league is not what it has been?

Three games in that is anyone's guess but you can only try to beat the team you are playing and so far so good on that front. The biggest factor for me though is, regardless of whether this side is better or worse than previous seasons, they are playing a much more entertaining brand of football.

I think our squad looks stronger and has more of a balance to it, everyone is looking comfortable playing Hopkin's system now and the players confidence will help them play better too. Much more entertaining to watch than last season anyway, i'm just enjoying seeing us score goals and win games, not really bothered if the standard is a bit lower than the Championship.
