Won't make tomorrow so hoping for good reports.
I'm not seeing it myself but there's been plenty of comments about our good play so far so let's see if we can turn that into a decent result for a change.

Thought we did well for long spells today and created enough chances to win the game. Two glorious chances in the second half ought to have been taken. I don't recall Kelly having to make save in the entire match. Once again, we conceded a screamer from 25 yards, so either we need to close down better or hope that League One players are less capable from that distance. No DJ, Buchanan or Carrick in the squad today so we have plenty of depth in the squad this year when we know that they've all to come back. I like our width this year and the deliveries from wide areas and set pieces makes me confident that we will create, and score, plenty from Cadden and Mullin's crosses. Ready for next now. Can't wait.

Just back from game and we deserved the win , defence and midfield were solid today. Mullen done good up top. Great work rate and desire from every player today. Very positive performance

I wish I had your confidence colcal but I don't see where the goals are coming from up front, Mullen wont score what we need and Buchanan has been playing too deep. We've got the wingers putting in great balls but who is getting on the end of them to score. We're playing some good stuff but we haven't a good enough goal threat with Mullen leading the line.
I've been saying it since last season that we need to put pressure on players before they get the chance to take these 25 yard shots, but it is still a problem going into this season.

JS it seems I have won you over to Mullen's deficiencies, so I will reciprocate on your opinion regarding shots from distance, losing a goal to the odd distance "worldy" is unfortunate but with the exception of the 3-0 win over Edin City we have conceded at least one such goal in every competitive game, and two in the Saints game makes up for none in the City game.... This smacks of the opposition having sussed out our susceptibility to shots from distance and employing it as a tactic. Which then points to poor coaching and management. Which is simply not good enough.
We have been saying from the moment White left that we need to strengthen up front, maybe Carrick will come good but Mullen needs to fulfil the undoubted potential he showed as a youngster, he's not improved much if at all since his first season and that either means he's not as good as he looked like he could become or the coaching he has received has been inept.

Agree with AuldNick - Danny Mullen has a huge season ahead and needs to show much more strength on the ball (not throwing himself to the ground) and holding it up more if he's to be taken seriously as a main striker. He gave away silly fouls too many times today when their defenders were facing their own goal. He's also caught offside too many times. He needs to be stronger, stay on his feet and link up more. Given his background and promise, I'd be looking for him to score 20 goals this year if I was him, and aiming to move on to bigger and better things. Otherwise he'll end up playing his trade with Broxburn. It's so frustrating! Be bigger and stronger Danny! Overall, I think we'll score plenty this year and (for the first time in a few seasons) the goals will come from all over the pitch - defenders, midfielders and strikers - rather than being overly dependent on Buchanan (and White last year). Confident about the coming season.

I am struggling to see how some people can be so positive about our chances when, for me, we lack firepower upfront
We play nice football, make passes and find space, all the pretty stuff but lack the ability to execute the final step of putting the ball in the back of the net more times than our opponents
We are easy to play against, and this will be exploited week in week out in the league
Hopefully we are looking for proper striker or two who can help us convert our chances as otherwise it feels like another long hard, frustrating season with a new manager by Christmas again

Though if we do something to stop the long range shots we'll cut out a lot of goals against us, and it isn't difficult to see how we can stop them. Our striker problem all boils down to Hopkin's team selection/positioning of players, but he did the same thing last season, dropped White to LM when he was our biggest goal threat up front, Buchanan needs to be leading the line. I was hoping Carrick would be the player to score goals when he scored one with his first touch after coming on as sub but we'll have to wait till his injured hand is healed for him to play.

All but one of those games were against teams from higher leagues right enough, so hopefully we' do better when we play against teams in our own league.

All but one of those games were against fellow full time teams. Hopefully the boards/operating committees decision to saddle the club with yet more debt to remain full time in Scotland's 3rd league won't prove to have been another big mistake on their part.

In higher leagues than us, which should have better players but apart from the opener with Dunfermline we weren't outclassed against any of them. I'm sure Ayr are still PT though. McCall said he'd rather remain PT and get better PT players on high wages than poor FT players on low wages. People just assume FT players are better than PT ones but in the lower league that isn't always the case, esp when the PT ones are playing at a higher level than our FT ones.

PT fitness levels are far better than they used to be or FT fitness levels are worse than they used to be. Or indeed both.
Regardless of PT/FT status, we need to be getting wired right in every game, taking control of each game and dominating the opposition. Take the game to them and put them under pressure instead of inviting them on to us.

All but one of those games were against fellow full time teams. Aye well if you look at it that way Barcelona and Real Madrid are also fellow full time teams.
