I'd like to thank the Manager and the Board for their openness at today's fans' forum. I was left with the impression that everyone has the best interests of the club at heart - and that's not a sentiment that I've felt for some time.
I was delighted that David Hopkin was retained at the end of last season, not least because the club needs a period of stability on (and off) the park. He spoke passionately about his desire to make the players better, to ensure that they develop self-belief though coaching and to demand commitment from everyone selected to play. As a fan, that's all I'm looking for. If we lose games then so be it, as long as we can say that everyone in a Livi strip gave it their best.
There's a level of competence at the club now that has been sadly lacking for a few years. We lack the funds to be a slick, highly resourced operation - relying on volunteers and goodwill much of the time - but I hope the Board knows that the fans are there to support them, and the club, in whatever way we can.
David Hopkin has a clean slate and is building his own squad, looking for them to play his way. I, for one, will be giving him my full support.
