The draw for the newly revamped Betfred Cup (League Cup in old money) will be made live on BT Sport at 7.30pm tomorrow night.

At this stage, all SPFL sides bar those in European competition next season along with East Stirling (Lowland League) and Cove Rangers (Highland League) will be in the draw.

We're in the South Section.

There will be 4 groups drawn from the South Section (and 4 in the North Section). Each group will consist of one team from Pot 1, 1 team from Pot 2 and 3 teams from Pot 3.

We're in Pot 3.

Hamilton Accies
Kilmarnock

Pot 2 (South)

Rangers
Morton
St Mirren

Pot 3 (South)

Ayr
Livingston
Stranraer
Airdrie
Albion
Stenhousemuir

Berwick
Edinburgh City
East Stirling

The 8 group winners progress alongside the best 4 runners-up and they'll join the 4 European Qualifiers (Celtic, Hearts, Aberdeen & Hibs) in the knockout round of last 16.

Not sure about it but suppose will have to see how it pans out before announcing it a dud or the best thing since sliced bread.

Interesting indeed.

I would say that the south section seems a lot easier than the north section and look forward to seeing how it all unfolds. Not sure how livi will do considering only the top team qualifies automatically and only four of the best runners up but im sure the club will welcome 2 guaranteed home games compared to the high chance of a first or second round defeat and no certainty of a home tie.

Being more optimistic I think livi have an outside chance of qualification if we avoid the likes of Ayr, Stranraer and maybe Airdrie in the group. A good chance to see how livi are placed for the season ahead, playing teams in the leagues both above and below us.

No matter who we get I hope the fans turn up home or away.

The principle of meeting with a higher position team is commendable.
The trouble is the well supported teams apart from rangers do not enter until the last 16.
I support the principle as it should spread income.
In fact I would propose such a system for the league also, area draws to create derbies and then play every other team once home or away alternating in 8 mini leagues, the top do knock out like the NFL and the middle also enter a knockout for a plate and two other non league teams become invited to create some form of relegation play off
