What's going to be the decision of the board on Saturday at 4.45 if we should get relegated I hope we go part time and get rid of all our under achievers I wouldn't want us to go bust but we are toiling as it is financially and without the big gates we are goosed

I think the PT title gets bandied about without knowing if it actually makes any difference to us financially or not.
We'd have the same rent on the stadium, and that is probably our largest outlay.
Our wage bill is said to be the lowest of all the FT teams and maybe even on par with Dumbarton's. Some PT teams pay big wages, some FT teams pay low wages. We probably pay a mixture of low to average.
We're running off field affairs like a PT club already, mostly PT staff and volunteers.
Only real FT advantage should be the training but performances this season don't suggest it as being an advantage over Dumbarton. However financially I don't actually know if PT/FT makes a difference.

I was actually just thinking much the same as the post above. People go on about us "having to go part-time" as if it's some magic remedy. I'm not actually convinced it would make that much difference.

Never mind Dumbarton showing us pt doesn't matter, Stranraer proved that on Wednesday
I suspect pt or ft doesn't matter too much, what matters is the funding behind the club allowing it to function on an affordable wage structure. As far as I can see the main difference between pt and ft is that pt players have other jobs meaning the don't get free afternoons to do nothing after morning training, instead they work all day and do as much training after work as the ft sides do in the morning.

What does full time really mean for a footballer? Turn up for training 5 days a week, starting at 10pm and finishing at 1pm! That's even fewer hours than teachers! After training, they go to play golf or snooker. Anyone who has a real full time job would recognise that a footballer can't possibly be described as being full time. So part time players work during the day, like the rest of us, and then train a few evenings each week. Many train every evening. Therefore, their fitness levels are unlikely to be any different from those of their full time counterparts. Perhaps part time players get similar money too, since we pay very little in basic wages. Bonuses allow for top ups but these have been few and far between this season. I'd love someone at the club to give a financial breakdown of the difference in costs between FT and PT status.

Colcal...as you suggest some full time teams could actually do less training than part time ones. That three hours (will they be doing three hours none stop?) will have some physical conditioning element to them, which means skills and tatics may only get an hour or so. The Part time may not do any fitness and may spend all their precious training time on drills and tactics, not wanting to belittle part time intelligences but I suggest that most will be doing some form of manual work and will be "fit" from doing that labour. They will also be seeing players like Vardy and dreaming and hoping. Our players may be looking at their lot, playing for the worst full time team in the land and thinking,,,this cant get worse.
