All I would say to that is - assuming it is accurate of course - the players agreed to sign contracts and therefore agreed to the wages on offer and Cole is grossly overpaid

I'm not really sure what you expected players at Livingston to be getting paid?
I'd rather we 'pay peanuts' to 'get monkeys' than plunge into financial oblivion by overpaying the players we do have.

If we pay peanuts why are we in supposed financial meltdown again?

If we pay peanuts why are we in supposed financial meltdown again? By that principle, paying players more than peanuts would exacerbate the situation, plunging us deeper into financial meltdown. In my opinion, we will be financially hamstrung for as long as we operate as a full time club with sub 1000 home crowds.

On the rest, I think it is about time we tried to live within our means so not understanding what this thread is all about. We've overpaid players for years and in doing didn't pay local businesses for their services when we went into admin twice. think we've got it the right way around now, paying our bills and paying wages we can afford.

The club has never really embraced professionalism, either on or off the park. Yes we use the term loosely but have never been a professional run organisation. The thread talks about wages. yesterday at the ground about 400 cars were parked during the day and did so for free. With all other car parks pay to park within walking distance, the club should be using that as revenue income, a pound a day beats the other parks (50p per hour) and if we paid a steward £100 for doing the work, (his company that is) that is £300 a day income we probably never thought of/ tried for. 5 days midweek would pay for a decent player. further we do not see our players as assets. We should realise we are a selling club, so the players should be developed to add value, that means full time hours not just a couple of hours mid morning. We also have a pitch that only generates income 18 times a year, we should be looking at bands festivals shows just like murrayfield and easter road do. Our failure to be professional is why we have not taken off as a club and why we will always be has beens.

Firstly we'd need someone in charge who has Livi's best interests a heart and is there to try and get the club on its feet to be there for future generations.
All we've had for years are guys with ego's looking to make a quick buck from selling land.
