I think all diehard Livi supports know all about ups and downs. (We've had more than any team in Scotland). The decision to pay the manager to stay at home, whilst contining with the exact same backroom set up is ludicrous, I understand that the club has to stay within budget.I also have little faith that Hopkin can turn the tide, but like many Livi fans, I'll be at the ground regardless. It's fighting through the bad times as a team that makes the good times happen. One thing is for sure, nothing is certain concerning Livi Fc, so we're not relegated yet. Hopkin just might prove all his doubters (me included) wrong. I hope he does.

Good first signing by Hopkin, Fozzy back at Livi and Hugo moves on. More your Burton O'Brien type player than Hugo's enforcer style. Had good skill on the ball and could pick out a pass.

He's not had a club for almost a year! I won't be expecting any great things right away, but he always was a bit cultured rather than one who stuck the foot in to break up play. Let's hope he has kept himself in trim and gives us a bit of class in midfield. Welcome Fozzy.

I think some fans need to wake up and look at the situation. We are a club with no money, we don't have some Russian billionaire backing us so the board need to realistic. Yes I would of preferred a more experienced manager but Hopkin is an ex Scotland international who is also well respected down south so will no doubt have contacts that may come in handy. With regards to the board they have made more positive moves to engage with local businesses to bring funds in than any other board I can remember. All you need to do is look at the amount of discounts you get with your season ticket! Even by creating the worst stadium name in the history of Scottish football it got people talking about our club. Let's see what happens going forward we all know with Livingston that anything is possible even another great escape

Hopkin had all that as Burchy's number 2... Didn't seem to be brought to bear though. But we can but hope.
Don't see why Tony Macaroni Arena is any worse than Shyberry Excelsior or Bet Butler Stadium or Ibrox for that matter. Come to think of it if Rangers had any imagination or sense of humour they'd get the stadium sponsored by Apple... The Apple i-Brox
Yes there are a number of discounts available but how many are investing money in the club?
Agree wholeheartedly with your final sentence.
On Faria's departure... His contract was up anyway

The contacts probably weren't used as Burchill probably thought he knew best. He always gave me the impression of being rather arrogant on the side. With the rumours that are on pie and bovril it already looks like Hopkin is making moves to make it his team.
The amount of local businesses who have agreed discounts for the fans seem to all have advertising boards dotted around the ground and let's be honest they aren't getting them for nothing! I'm not saying the board have all the answers but they are obviously trying, it's hard for a team outside the old firm to make money theses days especially when we have only been established since 1995.
The Toni Macaroni Arena (come on how can you call our ground an arena??) Name sounds a lot worse than the examples you gave but as I said it got people talking about the club and not the usual negative chat.
Faria was a good player about 4 years ago but his legs are gone so not a big loss. Hopefully Hippo, Durkell and the other wages stealers get moved on as well.

Read Fozzy was a target at the start of the season so that would've been Burchill after him too, may well be the other players were in Burchill's plans for the Jan window too, happy with them anyway.
The Indodrill Stadium is another one with a silly name, Dumbarton's new name is worse than ours though; Cheaper Insurance Direct Stadium.

Hopefully Hippo, Durkell and the other wages stealers get moved on as well. If we had a management team in place that actually picked them and (in Hippo's case) played them in their proper position they could be given a chance to prove themselves. Not quite sure why there is so much dislike for the likes of Hippo, Moses and Hugo whilst the two Jordan's can underperform week in/week out yet be immune from critiscism? As a team we have been poor all season but the core players never seem to change, surely by giving everyone in the squad a chance things can't get anyworse

I have seen him sent off and booked this season for no reason. That's not the player we need here. he should pack his bags and quit!!!!!!

I have to say that I've been impressed with him this season. Certainly wasn't his biggest fan, but he's converted me now, I really like his style of play! It's time to get rid of Georgiev and Duckrell if they're not going to play, they're just sitting there soaking up a wage we can ill afford to pay.

Yeah i'd ditch Spas and Moses before Hippo, they just take up two playing spots that are not helping us. Same goes for Cole and Sives, thugh in Sives case I have sympathy because at least he tries his best when he was fit to play, so he at least deserves his wages.

Faria was a good player about 4 years ago but his legs are gone so not a big loss. Hopefully Hippo, Durkell and the other wages stealers get moved on as well. On your first paragraph...any number 2 worth his salt would make it known to the boss what he believed, which suggests Hoppy was happy to go with the flow, a good manager needs a very good assistant who is not backward at coming forward. Fair enough on the advertising but it's not "life changing" input for the finances. Learn your history tho, we have only been in Livingston since 1995, the club existed as Ferranti since the 50's and as Meadowbank since the 70's... We are the same club having had 2 name changes and a few relocations...but I accept it is difficult to draw investors. It was an Arena last season too and I laughed at the idea but everyone I know refers to Tony Macaroni's as Tony Mac's... Which should have led to the stadium being called the Tony Mac Arena and it is no coincidence that the music man plays the Macarena song when we score. And frankly I will always consider the true name to be Almondvale and I think the chat was negative, they were slagging off the name just as you are and it is no worse than those I mentioned and the one JS mentioned. Agree on Faria but at least he tried and he is gone as his contract was only until January anyway. IMO Hippo needs more game time not less, he proved what he can do from April to May last season when he got a consistent start and was played in the natural area for him. Duckrell and Georgiev haven't really been given a chance so in some respects I'd like to see them get a chance but if we can get someone better in then so be it.
