Thoroughly deserved victory. Could have - should have - been more than 4-1. Good energy all over the pitch. Great link up play by Pittman in particular and excellent forward play from Buchanan and White. Pressed well too and looked like they had a point to prove after the manager losing his job. Poor as St Mirren were, we were very good for long spells and it could have been a record score of we'd been more clinical or escaped some last ditch, desperate tackles. Excellent day in Paisley for the visiting fans. Appalling weather - but who cares?! If we can create as many chances in every game, we'll be winning more games than we lose. What a difference a victory makes to the weekend.

Indeed, great win and performance, we need to do it more often though and get some consistency to move away from the bottom two spots.
Dunno about goal of the month but big White should get an award for pass of the month, his assist for Buchanan's second goal was FAB U LOUS.

Agreed - that first time pass from White was wonderful. I'd love to see it again and again. Absolutely fantastic pass. I've criticised Gary Glen a lot this season so lack of contribution and lack of tracking back. However he set up the first goal and scored the third. I wish he'd work harder defensively but credit where it's due - will done Gary. Silly booking for Hippo again. Totally needless. Let's use this result as a springboard. Tough game at Falkirk and then home to QOS next Saturday. I'd be happy with 3 points out of that!

Sounds like a good win!
Burchill must be tearing his hair out after being shown the door his players do that!

If Burchill had brought on Buchanan against Dumbarton maybe he would still be in a job. His substitutions, and lack of them, didn't help, along with his tactics.
Fair play to Hopkin for using all of his subs, and setting the team out to attack, I was worried during the HT interval in case we'd come out to hang onto our one goal advantage, but credit to him for sending the players out to build on our lead, something Burchill failed to do against Dumbarton.
We need to be more consistent though and build on this win to get ourselves into a comfortable position in the league.

Gibbons is a very young player who's in his first season as a first team player at senior level. He has been a star man on several occasions and, not surprisingly, is inconsistent - like all young players. Pittman is the same - he's also been a standout several times. Gary Glen was off form a great deal, eapecially recently, and I was amazed he kept his place yesterday. However, he set one up and scored another yesterday so Hopkin was bang on. Also liked that we used the subs sensibly yesterday - the right subs at the right times. Buchanan is a class act and White has been transformed in recent weeks, winning headers and holding up the ball much better than ever before. I've said before that we just need to be consistent and we'll be fine. How that's done is the key question!

Alloa are bad too but we lost to them, bad or not we still have to beat them and unless we put in the correct application and get the right decisions from the side line we wont beat anyone.
Gibbons was dropped for Mullen coming back in, Gibbons is a holding midfielder so looks like Hopkin set us out more to attack than defend.

Think Burchill went down in my estimations the day he said Gibbons is a future Scotland international ...he's one of the worst midfielders to have played for Livi

Think Burchill went down in my estimations the day he said Gibbons is a future Scotland international ...he's one of the worst midfielders to have played for Livi Ridiculous thing to say. He gives 100% every game he plays, which isn't always something that can be said for every player. Sounds like you're living up to your name and trying to be confrontational. I'll give you the benefit of the doubt and put it down to you having had too much mulled wine. On a separate note, I thought Faria had his best game in a Livi shirt yesterday. Broke up their attacks and got things going for us several times. Credit where it's due because I've not been his greatest fan! Let's get behind everyone who plays, whether they're our personal favourites or not, and support every single one of them. It was great that the players came over to the travelling fans after yesterday's win. Enjoyed that!

Yeah I like Gibbons, he gets stuck in, I think he shows promise.
Also nice touch when the players came out first half and came over to that ladder thingy that was set up over by our end and did a warm up in front of the fans before ko, I liked that.
The goal celebrations in front of the away support with the players punching the air towards us and giving it a 'come on' had a last season Cowdenbeath feel to it, getting fans and players united as one. Really enjoyed the atmosphere at that game.

I like Gibbons; in no way shape or form is he one of the worst midfielders we have had. He never hides; he looks to play the simple ball & he gets up to help the forwards when he can as well as never shirking from his defensive duties. He can sometimes be rash in the tackle but as JS says he gets stuck in.

Anyone who thinks Gibbons is anywhere near being one of the worst midfielders we've had either needs their head examined or hasn't been to many Livi games.
