A friend of mine has alerted me to the fact that Ged Nixon is reported to have left the club. Is this true? If so, why? A fresh period of turmoil for Livi FC around the corner? Great.

Yeah saw that on pie and bovril. Doesn't say why though? Maybe just natural turnover, I don't know. The make up of club boards regularly change and get shuffled. No need for predictions of turmoil yet. I hope.

Natural turnover of the group that saved the club? Can't see it myself. I suspect he was either unhappy with the direction the club is going in or someone was unhappy with his contribution to the running of the club. Purely conjecture on my part though.

That's just what we need. It's not as though we've been stable for long enough without another shambles being created. There's nothing on the official site about this.

Anyone else wondering how the f*ck we're in debt to the tune of £1,700,000?
Apparently it was only £1m when Massone had us in the gutter.
Not entirely confident we'll get through this, never mind ever get back on an even keel.
I can't see Livi fans buying up shares in Rankine's proposed share issue in large quantities - there's barely enough of who still go to the games as it is.
Dark days.

LIVINGSTON shareholder Neil Rankine last night admitted he is taking a more hands-on role at the club after revealing their debt has soared to £1.7million. Scary amount that. #rubbish

Would imagine that some of the debt has been pay outs to Bollan, Evan,Burke etc etc Do remember being at the first meeting in AS where Ged said if a £1 came in they would spend 99p.............. Lots of bad decisions have been made but hopefully can get out of this. Commercially not been as pro active as should have been-changed days where people booked for every game for hospitality - Need much more effort nowadays

According to Rankine the bulk of the debt is in interest free loans from the directors....presumably to fund the climb back up from the bottom rung after demotion. 1st div contracts being honoured in div 3 & div 2 for example

Opening line -
"THE former Dumbarton owner is trying to get the club back onto a secure financial footing after again finding themselves in a troubled financial state."
Rankine's second line -
"The club is in no danger.."
So what is it? A troubled financial state or no danger?

They are in debt to the tune of £1.7m - I would suggest that is a troubled financial state Allegedly the bulk of this debt is owed as interest free loans to benign directors - I would suggest that means the club is not in danger
Of course it all depends on whether you trust Rankine or not...

Sounds to me like a certain Monsieur Rankine has been playing someone (the whole Livi support?) for a fool. Could it be he's looking for a Rangers and Hearts windfall all for himself. He'll be lighting the boardroom candles with used tenners next.

What is clear is that there has been no information available on this to the wider support from any of the parties involved. Most disappointing is that there's been no info forthcoming from the new board other than tales of impending doom via Supporters Direct and the press. The official website is foosty with cobwebs it's so under used as a means to keeps fans abreast of what's going on, who's jacked what in and who the latest foreign import is. It's like we're doomed to lurch from one chaotic near death episode to another shambolic financial balls up with the fans eternally kept in the dark. And folk wonder why we're hemorrhaging fans hand over fist.

Pedro is right in that the level of communication is not good enough. If it can not be of a greater level due to the need to maintain business integrity for example, then that should be communicated instead. Several points, club owners now appear to avoid putting "real" money into clubs by the use of preferred loans when previously they just "paid up". We are where we are by the principle failure of generating a club profile or brand in a reasonable sized area. This indicates a significant issue with our marketing team/management. I have been keen on the club for a long time and have often wondered why this has been so, perhaps the club needs a change here. My last point, maybe some of the turmoil has been due to Ged and with him moving on a more stable hand could now be applied to the tiller. If I was to concentrate on an area to help "fix" the club, I would say marketing needs fixed now.

Don't think we can properly accredit blame till we hear from all involved, but Rankine is in the papers today saying that it was a no brainer to put us in administration for a third time but he didn't due to possible league sanctions. Sanctions? They'd have shatter us sideways! Someone tell me he was joking!

There has been a consistent issue with the profile of the club. I would look to see if there was a consistency, a commonality that could be attached to that period and investigate if that was the problem.

Rumour has it that Ged wants his money back & is prepared to sue to get it....if this is true I am disappointed that it has come to someone who apparently wanted what was best for the club now apparently prepared to take it down again. I'm not saying he shouldn't get his loan repaid just wondering how he could go from being one of the "saviours" to the guy holding the hammer above the final nail.

Because Ged Nixon is, was and will always be a lying bawbag! Aye, that right? And what are your thoughts on this shrinking violet, pray tell? How long do you give the club under his tutelage? Does it take a bawbag to know a bawbag?

Rankin has put more money into Livi than Nixon and is not the one threatening to pursue a winding up order.
Yes Rankin looks like Frank Butcher's second cousin, but he the man trying to save us just now which is more than can be said for Super Ged

Trust, is such a curious thing. It makes one man heart skip and another ones sing.
I thought I heard a song like that on the radio this morning?
Without a full fly on the wall disclosure documentary I think that we fans are going to be in the dark for some time! I would appreciate a statement or two coming out from central office. Fans may not have the big bucks of owners but do invest a whole lot into clubs including body and soul. That commitment and investment should be respected.

There are rumours that at the Dumbarton game, that Ged and Neil had a coming together in the executive toilets. If only it was of the Fraudian variety we may not still be in this mess.
