What can I say lads, we dominated that game from start to finish, two good goals, a clean sheet, 3 points and a place in the Scottish cup FINAL!
What makes it even more sweeter is that fact that we were confident enough to let them take home advantage and still go through to there place and turn them over. I thought they would put up more of a challenge after seeing there league postiion and recent results but it wasn't the case.
Again I thought the defence was solid, Kev and Mark in particular winning everything in the air and Wullie with his no nonsense style of defending which is working a treat. I was actually saying to Paul Miller on the way home that it makes a massive difference having the same back 4 week in week out.
MOTM - Hard one to pick this week as there were a lot of good performances. Voldys talking and orginisation worked a treat and he helped us keep a good shape, also won everything in the air. Between Tom and Tich for MOTM though as I thought Tich was dropping off the front line and getting on the ball a lot and making things happen. Going to give it to Tom though, he done a lot more sitting than I did which allowed me to get forward. He was always on the ball and was making things tick in the middle, also put in a great pass for the first goal, which Dave stuck away superbly. Tom even managed to keep the moaning to a minimum!!
Donkey - Dougie for pouring a whole bottle of water over my head when I only needed some on my nose!

From start to finish we were in control they only broke 3-4 times that I remember which shows how strong we are from front to back.
Thot Kev and McGinty put in another big shift at the back as usual and it's great playing alongside such good defenders. Tom dominated midfield with some great passes and good tackles. Cam the man and daz were strong on the wings and made sure they couldn't attack from the wings. Having Ritchie, tich and Dave on the park for our attacking options is amazing coz you know they will fight for everything and put there defence under pressure!
Motm is between McGinty and Tom for me thot but will give it to McGinty for his numerous wins in the air and control in defence to help us keep a clean sheet.
Donkey goes to Dougie for water incident coz I can't think of anyone on the field.

Team looked superb from the sidelines on Saturday. Think they only had two chances in the first half to us having double figures. We looked scarily good on the attack. Came up against another strong shot stopped in their keeper. Credit to him as he kept them in it for a long time. You can see what a huge difference it makes having the same back 4 week in week out. They are becoming a formidable force at the back. Only a couple panicky moment throughout the 90mins. MoTM for me was DazK. Constant running down the line and always back to help out the defence. Donkey - Chaztaz not attending a huge game after making himself available then starting the MoTM/Donkey thread

as above.. tremendous. Always loved playing for GS, but to see it come together like this and with such frequency is a real joy.
MoTM, hard to judge, massive performances are becoming par for the course from front to back. Will say Jordan this week. Though they only broke a couple of times, that makes it all the harder to be alert and aware when not busy for large spells. When called upon he had some great punch outs and last man stops. Whiney wee c**t but becoming a massive asset. Got to consider other teams are giving Jordan the same credit we are giving their keepers.
Donkey.. Joe beat me to it. Chaz. no shadow of a doubt.

Was extremely nervous going into this one. But I can see me feeling exactly the same for every match until the end of the season.
Felt I was mince on Saturday, and huge gratitude to Kev for covering my ass after that howler in the first half.
Never really like these threads for singling out folk for any reason. I hope everyone keeps doing what we're doing. Supporting each other, fighting hard, having a desire and a passion to keep this going. Delighted with the clean sheet as Jordan, Mark, Kev and Wullie do deserve it for their performances over the last 5 weeks.
Midfield and Attack have been immense over those last 5 weeks too. Scoring 24 goals in 5 games and creating at least that again in chances is phenomenal. Keep it going!
Another HUGE game in a fortnight though, so lets keep it up!

I said it last week - winning is awesome!
Like Dean I was really nervous given what was at stake but seeing the likes of Richie, Tich, Tom and he-who-shall-not-be-named getting the ball down, playing football and controlling the game always gives me confidence and settles my nerves. Top stuff lads.
We totally dominated the game and as a couple of folk have said, that really surprised me given some of Maroon's results and their league position.
MotM - Really tough one this week, so I'm going to give it to the midfield. We dominated the whole game but the midfielders in particular I thought were simply excellent. Nothing else to say, great work.
Donkey - Dougie as it was my fricking water. I was looking forward to that. Also a special mention to the scene where Paul was off LV's shoulder, shouted "I'm here", then fecked off into the box and ended up just about as far away from LV's short pass as he could have been.

Can't add much to what's been said already. Great showing from everyone - starting eleven, to subs, to boys who came along to support. Brilliant from all.
Was only a few weeks ago we half joking/half serious said if we win our next 12 games, we'll win the league. 5 games into that it's down to 'if we win our next seven games we win the league.' Not only that but in those 5 games we've played we've beaten Clyde twice and Hearts once - two teams in the top 4 laong with ourselves and Ayr.
We need to make sure that level of focus and want is there for every game from now 'til the season end. Can't afford to think we can just turn up - not before the match and certainly not during a match, regardless of the scoreline. Remember, this league could very easily come down to goal difference so we've got to stay switched on for the full 90 minutes.
Hard work will win us games, not praise, so lets enjoy the nice words from other teams but be under no illusion that we'll need to battle like feck to get this done!
MotM - McGinty. Absolutely solid at the back. Been a massive player every game this season and Saturday was no different.
Donkey - Mutter for banging on about how he can strike the ball like Ronaldo/Bale. I've still to see him even score in a warm-up let alone a rasper.

Absolutely loving this year. Great results and if we can keep the same squads coming to every game (home or away) then there is no reason why we can't make this our year lads. It's great to be a part of it again after my poor start to the season and then my accident which ruled me out till the turn of the year. As Dave's said we're half jokingly saying that we could win the league. Let's start believing we can. Lets bring the same attitude to every game because as was rightly pointed out before Saturday's game, it's us that have to put the performance in to win the game. If we do and lose then fair play at least we tried, but if we don't then we will all be gutted about the year 'we almost won the British'. Let's keep the performances and results coming in and lets win the British.
MotM - You know what there was far too many contenders out there on Saturday and I believe that everyone played to their best potential so I'm giving this one to GS.
Donkey - Couple of contenders this week, Chucky for obvious reasons, Dougie for the water incident but I think Paul deserves it this week for shouting on the short pass and then sprinting off to the opposite corner of the park!

I've always loved being part of GS, there is nothing better lads. It's that good I pretty much split up with my bird for my love of you lads (amongst other things - LOL). We have always been a decent team, no doubt about it, but the problem we have had is consistency. Consistency comes from a few things: - Having a quality SQUAD of players - Yes
- Having these players turn up week after week - Yes
- The squad not complaining about decisions - Yes
- The squad being full of mates who bend over backwards to help each other - Yes
This season, this is all coming together. We are in a brilliant position and it is down to all of us. What we need to do now is keep winning. If we play they way we have played the last couple of months we will win the league, we will win the cup and we could easily end the season with more trophies than we have ever had. We know not to be complacent though, and as manager, it is my job to ensure none of you are slacking. Sometimes I'll take it too far, and I apologise for that, but you know that I'm being a cvnt most of the time because I know we can smash everything we have in front of us. Teams are taking note of us now and will be doing their best to topple us. They would love to be the team that ends our unbeaten record, but I'm holding onto this record and it will need to be a bloody good team that takes it from us. Saturday was a solid and dominant performance where we bossed the game. We didn't let missed chances get to us, scored 2 superb goals, and in the final few minutes had Hearts pinned back, exactly where we wanted them. I only made 2 subs during the game but hope you all understand how quickly the match could have flipped on its head. Sorry for not getting you game time, but your reaction to the goals, the communication and team involvement was tremendous. Everyone pulled their weight and the most pleasing aspect of that game was getting the clean sheet. Jordan has deserved this for a few weeks now and with only 2 goals conceded in our last 3 (one a worldie), we have tightened up significantly. MoTM - All deserve a shout out but I'll give this to Tich. Played a different role to usual and dropped back to defend from the front, causing endless problems to their lads at the back. Special mention to Mark McGinty also who was imperious at the back. Donkey - Naebody. P.S Congratulations Richie - superb celebration! Even though I thought you were doing a Hitler impression.

MotM: Dave - Kept going even after a few misses where his head could easily of dropped but he got his goal.
Donkey: Charles for same reasons as Joe.
