What a fantastic result that was for the team today , great to see Keags back into team , him byrne and pittman were excellent they all cover every blade of grass. The back 3 were solid all game , great last ditch tackle by Declan near end of game. Josh put in great shift along with toddy and Danny. Young Penrice solid debut. Good to get first win

A good solid performance by Livi, Lithgow back in defence showed how much we missed him last week, he doesn't stand out as much as Halkett and Gallagher but we aren't as solid in defence when he isn't there. And Jacobs in midfield ran the show too, both of them were big misses for us when they were out injured, but it was between Gallagher and Jacobs for our MoTM, Decs challenge on Quitongo saved our skin too, some tackle.
The game went much the same way as our cup win, we were good defensively and hit a long ball up the pitch to catch them out, Mullen being the player to score the opener this time. Once we got that goal we looked pretty comfortable in seeing out the game and Morton ran out of ideas on how to get at our goal, a bit like us against St Mirren last week.
Now we've got our first league win the pressure is off, and we can relax a bit, from what I've seen we've a good chance of a mid table finish and maybe even challenging for a play off place, but just now we're quietly going about our business and flying under the radar.

A fantastic result, yesterday! To be honest, I didn't see that one coming.

I thought Morton would be right up for revenge after our cup win. Delighted to see us repeat that success albeit by a narrower margin.
Seems to me from what I have seen so far this season & reading reports on what I haven't seen that we are at our best when we have Byrne, Pittman & Jacobs in the middle of the park & when Lithgow is in defence. I noticed last season that Crighton always played better with Lithgow beside him but I always viewed Crighton as the better of the two players and was surprised when Hoppy would pick Lithgow ahead of Crighton once Dec re-signed for us. I now think that while Lithgow may be a bit ungainly he seems to bring balance to our rearguard & also brings the best out of his fellow defenders, those qualities may be every bit as, if not more, important to the team.
All in all, well done to the team for bouncing back from last Saturday's disappointment by getting the first league win & something for us to build on.
