Well, looks like we survived a wee scare, going behind early to a Morgyn Neill (of all people) goal. We drew level with an og. Took the lead thru Dale Carrick. Gave away a penalty almost immediately which Stranraer converted and were still level at HT
Second half saw two subs on the scoresheet as first big Toddy & then debut boy Robinson scored with his 1st touch to complete a 4-2 win and guaranteed 1st place in the group.
No mean feat when you think that Partick were 6th in the top division last season.

I got a bit worried in the first half when we conceded two goals but we sorted ourselves out in the second half and ended the game quite comfortably 4-2 up.
This pre season has been very tough with the teams we chose to play, but it has worked out very well for us in these Betfred cup games. We've won all four of them in different way and shown we can grind out a one nil win as well as come from behind and comfortably win 4-2. I'm quite excited about the league campaign now, I think we could surprise a lot of people and challenge for a top four spot but i'll not let myself get carried away with that just yet, it'll be a tough season and with a lot of twists and turns ahead.
Great start though, hopefully we get a good draw on Sunday for the last sixteen games.

We'll probably get another championship side, away and as such, if Caley qualify then you could be spot on. Not sure they will get through though.

If we finish up as a seeded team, we will no doubt get Partick again
And be the last team drawn as is the norm

Or worse, Morton away, and that'll be six times we're playing them this season(or seven if we draw them in the Scottish cup too), and in their hovel of a ground where you get the added pleasure of having the circulation in your legs cut off.
