Quite a subdued kind of game. The two-nil scoreline was fair enough as we didn't really create too much and, if anything, they could have scored a couple more but for their profligate finishing. I'm not sure of the obvious benefit of having two coaches on the sidelines barking out the same/different angry orders to the same/different players does for the team. Maybe the manager should be taking the sole charge of barking angry orders to various players? They might stand a chance of understanding what's being barked angrily at them that way? Just a suggestion. I went to bed last night with a migraine and 'TODDY!', 'TODDY!', 'TODDY!', 'TODDY!', 'TODDY!', ringing in my head.

I thought we created enough to get 3 or 4 goals, we just weren't good enough to finish them though, and Motherwell were. First half we competed well in midfield and had a few good efforts on goal, Knox in particular hit a lovely dipped shot that was tipped onto the bar, that was the closest we came to scoring. Slack defending gave them an early opportunity to score but we got away with that one. And the goal on the stroke of HT was after we gave the ball away in our own half, that was hard to take after playing so well for 45 minutes and having to go in 1-0 down.
Much like the Hearts game we made a few changes 2nd half and looked weaker after doing so, and the 2nd goal was a bit farcical with Smith rushing out his box leaving an open goal for Bowman to slot the ball into from a tight angle.
From the two pre season games I thought our back three and midfield looked good, before we started making substitutions, and Mullen looks good up front, would like to see Carrick getting a game beside him though as I haven't been impressed by the other three strikers shots at goal.

I though we pinged he all about very nicely, especially in the first half. Like most preseason friendliest, the second half was punctuated by endless substitutions that made it tough to get any rhythm. Gary Bowyer, the Blackpool manager, was in the Livi Directors' Box, presumably as a formal guest in pursuit of one of our players (maybe Knoxy). But I'm concerned that people come for Pittman and Halkett, both of whom are genuinely excellent. Pleased to have an experienced keeper (almost) confirmed in Neil Alexander. Just about sorted now. Can't wait for the new season to get going.
