Oh my! I've just heard on the radio that JOMA don't do Livi's strip anymore. Does this mean the club shop will close or will the JOMA company that runs the shop keep it open to sell another make of strip?

The club shop has been run by Football Nation on match days for the past few years, but I guess that the club are maybe just going to staff it themselves.
The new manufacturer is FBT a Thailand company, the full range of kit options was on their site for a while but taken down but the items looked good as can be seen on the young Livi Vloggers video

Mmmm. Interesting.
I've never heard of FBT.
I hope the finished article moves away from the custards yellow of recent years to a more traditional amber colour.

Sadly I think traditional amber has given way to yellow... personally I think the deck chair kit began the slippery slope away from amber, although it could be argued the year of the white home kit with orangey/tangeriney shorts kicked it off, I would argue our return to amber after that puts the blame squarely on the deck chair decision.
I liked the deck chair as a kit but not as a Livi home kit.

Spot on Auldnick, however , will we be going with black as our home strip this season or the two tone yellow if indeed the video shows our Championship season kit? I prefer the amber and black but it has been a long time since we had anything along those lines

I think it was down to finances more than anything else, once the club were no longer in a position to order bespoke strips it just had to take off the peg ones and yellow strips became our colours.

You'd be hopeful that FBT would be able to provide bespoke kits; given that Dumbarton have brought out very classy strips, containing amber btw, since they made the Championship, and all are bespoke, there's really no reason why we shouldn't be.

Problem is that we have been yellow rather than amber for around 10 years, so it has gradually become the norm, I was delighted we went back to black last season, just to get away from the yellow.

Home kit is definitely black this season, doesn't appear to have shadow stripes or hoops, simply black. Looks smart & definitely FBT. Sounds like they will run the shop on match days but also & mainly be online.

Indeed it is but I haven't seen it in the flesh so to speak, whereas I have seen the home kit, although looking at that link, what I saw looks more like the polo shirt

If ditching Football Nation, closing the club shop and organising this new lot from Thailand to provide the strip was the first act by the clubs new general manager it seems as though chaos and farce won't be far from Livi's door again this season.

Just as long as court cases and admin stay away.
Must be a better deal though, you'd like to think so anyway.

How can you comment when you know sweet FA of behind the scenes? Im sure that if your marketing services would be welcomed by the club or indeed a direct chat would be welcomed direct to Graham Leslie who is very approachable and desperate for assistance and help from all genuine Livi fans in putting the club first. Why not air your concerns direct flash rather than on here if you have the balls that is?

Not sure the shop is being closed. It was only ever open on match days & I am led to believe that will still be the case.

Just to clarify I popped down to the stadium today knowing fine no one else would and the information is as: The club are not closing the shop indeed it will stay open as it has done on match days. However they will have a facility where you can order any club merchandise at anytime via the web page. As fas as the deal with FBT is concerned it was done prior to the GM starting so he had no control however he welcomes the involvement with FBT and the introduction of ordering online is would you not agree a significant step forwards. The new kit and online facility will be lauched at the Sunderland Game. I hope and trust that clarifies the situation.

Yep, pretty much as was explained to me. Didn't want to say too much in case I misunderstood but we have both been told the same thing...the only bit I hadn't heard was the timing of the FBT deal but I was pretty sure it pre-dated Graham's appointment

Don't think we have always been able to do that.
As I understand it the Football Nation "deal" wasn't as good for the club as the FBT deal is. That being the case, business is business & if the new deal is better then credit to whoever brought it to us.

Don't think we have always been able to do that. You absolutely have been able to for the full duration of time that Football Nation have kit supplied the club.

I didn't say that we couldn't; I said we haven't ALWAYS been able to do that which was the original statement. I think you'll find I am correct; a pedant I grant you, but correct nonetheless.

The original statement was "...and the introduction of ordering online is would you not agree a significant step forwards"
My point was, this isn't an "introduction" as it's something that's been available for years now.

At the risk of being pedantic again... Your protestations are immaterial, your statement was that we have ALWAYS been able to do so... We have not ALWAYS been able to do so... Which you now acknowledge by modifying your position to "for years now" - Which I can now agree with.
