So we have signed Josh Peters from Forfar. 20 year old forward, 17 goals in 28 games for Forfar. Quite a decent ratio.
Welcome to Livi Josh, may your career here flourish.

Never heard of the boy but best wishes to him and I hope he hits the ground running! A fee involved at all? Genuine question, do we still have a youth setup?

Do we have a goalkeeper - other than big Gary.

No new keeper yet as far as I can see.
No mention of a fee for Peters... Ali McNeill might have some knowledge of him from the lads time at Strathspey?

And now another 20 year old forward, Dylan Mackin from Motherwell joins the squad.

This young lad sounds an interesting signing! Rather this type of signing than loan-ins.

Hoppy must really rate him, giving him a two year contract. He looked a good hold up player in our draw away to Alloa, good goal he scored too. I think him and Mullen could play well together, or maybe even Carrick, it gives us good options up front.

Lucasz Skowron. He's a 26 year old Pole, played in Portuguese 2nd tier last season, I thought Malley (could be adjusted on the spelling) looked fit and lost a few pounds I thought he might have got the jersey full time?

had my doubts about Maley at first but when he has played he has done well, the trialist goalie was not bad on Saturday, Ex Livi goalie Neil Alexander is without a club now having left Aberdeen and could be good cover if he fancied coming back, just a thought

I'd take DJ back in a flash.

I'd rather have The Flash - he'd be quicker than some keepers we've had.

I'd take DJ back in a flash. Why? Cause he's "one of our own"? Can't be due to his form during his last few games where he couldn't line up a wall, couldn't save shots from a distance, couldn't kick, couldn't catch a crossed ball if he ever came for one which was rare, he could save pens though.

Ach, he was let down criminally by more experienced players (and management team) at the back, week in week out, and fans fell for it.
We should have worked with him to improve his game instead of showing him the door and giving a The Rangers keeper game time.
Water under the bridge, I suppose, but we're not exactly endowed with quality between the sticks as things stand right now.

It all went pear shaped for DJ when he started doing all that Infinity TV stuff, more time on the training pitch was needed, esp when positioning himself for free kicks.

He had potential, Pedro, & I agree that we should have tried to develop him better but his heid wiz fu' o' mince & I agree with JS that when he became a local celebrity it went a wee bit to his head & he lost focus on his game.
Not sure what you mean by "fans fell for it"; his form dipped badly after the great escape & Petrofac season, & he was rightly dropped. Whether McCallum was the right guy to replace him is arguable. Maybe he'd have revived if he had been given a chance last season but he got a move to a higher ranked club so he probably scored financially if not in terms of playing time.

I meant that after one or two games where he may or may not have been at fault for something/anything there was a bit of a bandwagon of fans all more than eager to put the boot in.
One, I can remember, vaguely, where Gallagher allowed a striker to rip him up for *rsepaper before slotting the ball easily past DJ. Gallagher gave it large to DJ for not making the save. Nice one, Gallagher.
There were other incidents too where DJ took the full brunt for a couple of free kicks when it wouldn't have been too hard for an experienced player to take a bit of the strain and assist with the wall before moving into position. But no. It was all DJ's fault. It was always DJ's fault, according to the growing bandwagon.
I never watched any of the Infinity stuff (are they still going?), so I can't comment on that side of things.
It's in the past though. I'm more annoyed that if we were going to chuck out a decent young keeper who, in my opinion, did more good than bad for us then we really should have had something better lined up. I don't think any of those who've worn the gloves since DJ have been any better than he was. So, two years later on, are we in a better position with regards to the #1 position? Unfortunately, I wouldn't say so.

Right now we aren't better off because we currently don't have a genuine starting keeper for 2nd tier football.
In terms of blame for a wall... It's the keeper's responsibility to line up a wall to protect his goal and to take up position so as to be ready for the ball coming over, round or under the wall. DJ would set up and I would predict, from my position in the stand where the ball was going to go based on the position of the wall and DJ. I was right more times than he was, that tells me he was severely lacking in his orginasation. His basic MO once a free kick was taken was to do a "Hollywood" dive but get nowhere near the ball. That was how I saw it.
One of my sons was critical of him long before I was & I still think he was overly harsh but DJ was a long way from where he should have been in ability when he left us. Partially through mismanagement & partially through him believing the "one of our own" hype .

Read it on Callum Carson's twitter and in his online DR article, he's usually in the know with all things Livi and before it is officially a done deal. I suppose there is always the danger of another club (Raith & Callum Elliot) jumping in to scupper the deal but I think with previous ties to Livi and Neil is a more scrupulous guy that would stick to an agreement. www.dailyrecord.co.uk/sport/local-sport/neil-alexander-set-complete-livingston-10746630
