Liam Buchanan has signed for Raith Rovers. That's the first piece of bad news we've had this summer so far. Otherwise, the majority of the squad is in place. We need another 20 goals a season striker, if such a thing exists. A new keeper and a right back, and we'll be good to go.

Yeah that's a shock him signing for Raith, I was half expecting him to sign for St Mirren or QoS. You got the feeling he was leaving though, with us offering him a deal weeks ago and not hearing any news of him re-signing.
The only player I can think of replacing him is Andy Ryan, who just pipped Buchanan as League One's top goal scorer, he's under contract at Airdrie though, so we'd have to buy him off them.

Best of luck to him, got to go where finances are if you have a family and mortgage. Glad it's not to a team in our league though, stick on he would come back and haunt us.

Zlatan has been released by Man U, won't be fit until nearer Christmas though.... We should offer him facilities to keep fit if he'll sign for the season & play for free of course!!
I'm not that bothered by Buchanan leaving, I think he is now a good third tier player. I think he realises that he has more chance of scoring in that division with a decent chance of another championship medal.

It's called talking up the standard of the opposition to give the Rovers fans a lower expectation; they have now got 2 proven third tier goal scorers who have also scored fairly regularly at 2nd tier earlier in their careers, they should skoosh it because they have weakened the 2nd best team in the division but they do have Ayr in there and they are probably better than the other sides in the division. It conceivably could be closer between Raith & Ayr than it was between us & Alloa.
Face it, Buchanan doesn't stay very long at any club. So he's not really known for club loyalty. And he's rubbish at penalties, which will be another reason RR went for Spence.
If we can get someone in who can be a regular scorer at 2nd tier level we will be doing well, I suspect we will have Mullen & Carrick as 1st choice pairing unless we can get a loan player in with a scoring pedigree. We need another forward or two though, just for options.

Our problem now is finding someone to replicate his prowess in front of goal. That'll not be easy.
