Expecting a scrappy game in poor conditions, hopefully Livi will come away with the three points.

I suspect that the game might be subject to a pitch inspection in the morning. I hope the pitch covers are on.

The weather and underfoot conditions are likely to make it a difficult day to play good football - it's unlikely to be one for the connoisseur! They've had a couple of clean sheets in a row and had a great victory last week. But we're too, and they're bottom, so it's a game we should be looking to win. I fancy a good home win and a clean sheet, so 3-0 to Livi, for the second home game in a row.

I want to see us spank the living daylights out of them but I foresee a stuffy performance earning them a draw

Well first of all an apology.
An apology to David Hopkins who suffered a torrent of abuse from a section of fans direct behind the dugout in row N. I filmed some of it, and its appalling. Now I am not a Hopkin fan but guys we are still sitting comfortably at the top there was no need for the abuse IMO.
That said difficult conditions heavy park and the three on form players on the bench it looked like 0-0 all day. I had the pleasure and company of the current Airdrie Boss and his assistant next to me today both quaking in their boots at the performance.
The chance at the death when Buchanan was clear 1 on 1 easily the best oppertunity.
Danny well back to kept falling over and our on loan striker stripped and ready to go on; but alas no game.
Next home game week on Tuesday.

I am no Hopkin lover, but FFS give the guy a break. "Play it on the deck" was one shout at home the only game this season it should have been hoof ball given the conditions and the tattie field we are playing on. 11points clear

At the end of the day still top by a greater margin on a bloody freezing and wet day. I thought both sides did well on a surface that negated any possibility of playing football on the deck. Didn't realise how the conditions had deteriorated until I came out of the stadium at the end and trudged to the car. He might not be everyone's cup of tea but Hopkin deserves credit along with the players getting us to this position. Now is the time to get behind all of them and encouragement not criticism is needed. See you at Airdrie.

I saw a game in which it was impossible to tell which team was top and which was bottom until the last 20 minutes where we managed to get a build of pressure but Belford (a fat, overweight part time keeper according to a certain section of the home crowd) pulled off a number of very decent saves. And before anyone says that the pitch was a leveller... The main reason it was difficult to tell which team was top and which was bottom was the fact that Stranraer were getting it down and passing it better than us; that's not the pitch being a leveller, that's the away team adapting better than the home team.
The same section of the crowd moaned when we tried to hoof it, then moaned when we tried to play it on the deck.
We were not up to our usual standard of play but the game was crying out for balls over the top for Mullen & Buchanan to run on to but we left it too late to try it, although it almost did lead to a goal, unfortunately Belford made one of those decent saves.
Disappointing not to capitalise on Alloa, Airdrie & Brechin not playing but it is another point ahead for now and as the games start running out, it becomes harder for them to claw enough points back.

It was almost impossible to play today. Strong wind, rain, snow, pitch cutting up. More than that, they were decent opponents who've improved hugely since the start of the season. All of the players, in both teams, deserve credit for what was a shocker of a day to play football. Ludicrous criticism from some fans today. We are 11 points clear at the top of the league. We are clearly the best team in the league, especially away from home, and people need to remember where we were a year ago. Credit David Hopkin - new squad, different style of play and better mentality. Thank you David! It's time for everyone to pull together. Let's get through to Airdrie next week in large numbers and show how much we want it!

Really? So you are disagreeing with your own post as well? I mean all you basically said in yours was it should have been hoof ball in the conditions and I have said the game was crying out for balls over the top. So where have you said black for me to respond with white?
