I don't believe we'll make it an entire season without a draw.... 1-1

Brechin have three of their first team back in contention tomorrow, having been out for a few weeks with injury. Maybe it's too soon for them all to start but they've lost their last two games. On the other hand, we've got Millar and Jacobs in the squad together with Todorov. Millar has already shown in one game that he has class to make a big difference to our team. Jacobs is a great signing, as long as he's as fit and energetic as before. Gallagher oozes calmness at the back and I've no idea about Todorov yet because I've never seen him play. What's clear is that the squad we have now is better than the squad we had before the January window. We hammered Brechin at their place and it could have been a much bigger score that day. All things considered, I'm going for a convincing home win, with 4-1 to The Lions.

You know, I can't be arsed with Brechin. I hope we absolutely pump them!

Pitch passes inspection. Game on.
Seems like ages since the last home league game - and as the last two home games of any description have been losses.... Here's hoping we can get back on track

Awful conditions, truly awful looking pitch that has future postponements written all over it and not a particularly great game. But a wins a win so who's complaining.
Brechin did not look like a team that is challenging at the top end of the table and were beaten pretty comfortably by a Livi team that looked stuck in third gear at times. I thought the same when we scudded them 3 0 at their patch.
I'll never understand why Hopkin persists with hoofing the ball forward when we have players who can play through the midfield effectively. Our first and third goal came from some good interplay on the deck so can we not limitit the high balls to set peices.
Anyway its next up Alloa and a chance to extedn our lead even further.

I thought Brechin tried hard to get back in it at 1-0 but we dealt with their forays comfortably. Only moment of panic was when Halkett almost hindered Kelly from clearing it but it broke kindly for us.
Their number 7 was lucky to stay on the pitch thanks to an over lenient ref.
I love it when Pittman goes in to a tackle, it's always full blooded and usually clean, you invariably hear the whack of boot on ball.
Agree that we have the ability to play through rather than over the opposition but with the pitch breaking up it has to be an option.

That was as comfortable an afternoon as we've had for a while. The early goal helped! We dominated the game from start to finish. Pittman, Gallagher, Byrne and Miller were all streets ahead of anyone else on the pitch. The result effectively puts Brechin out of the title race, in my view. I went for 4-1 before kick off but pleased we kept a clean sheet. Alloa next week. Tough. But a win would effectively bring their challenge to an end too. Plastic pitch might help us too. Pittman is a wonderful player and I only hope he stays with us next season too.

That was a nice relaxing afternoon watching Livi play, couldn't have wished for a better start to the game either, had barely got comfy in my seat when I had to stand back up to celebrate Buchanan's goal. Millar again making a difference with his deliveries, setting up Halkett's goal, got a feeling we'll score a few from set pieces now with his quality taking them and the big players we have. Lovely bit of play leading up to our third goal, Cadden seems to have got the official credit for it but it was Pittman who got the last touch to steer it into the net.
That's the best I've seen Cadden play for us, he was kicked to bits by Brechin but still caused them all sorts of problems, Dec strolled it in defence, and our midfield of Millar, Pittman, Byrne and Millar dominated play, with Cadden running the wing too.
Thought Rafa looked much better playing as a striker when he came on, he was all over the place chasing the ball down and causing them problems, would like to see us playing Rafa up front from now on, I think him and Todorov as 2nd half subs will get us goals if we keep bringing them on together. Can't wait to gub Alloa now.
Edit to add. I forgot to mention Sinclair, it was an unexpected surprise seeing him come on as sub but I thought he looked really good and got involved right away with good bits of play, we've a really strong squad just now.

I thought Cadden got the credit as it deflected off a City player but I couldn't see clearly who got the final touch.

Yeah Brechin's official match report has it as a deflection off their player from Cadden's shot but our match report has Pittman getting his foot on it, I saw some footage from a mobile phone and it looked like Pittman got something on it though. Cadden's getting the goal anyway so tough luck if Pittman did get his foot to it lol.

Our match reporter is notoriously blind... Described us wearing the black kit for one home game that we'd worn the blue kit for.

Missed the Game yesterday due to Work Commitments down in lovely Yorkshire, however all positive comments including press reports.
The pitch is a concern but again when you have no groundsman what do expect. I think that the 4g or advanced 3g or whatever its called will be a serious contender for LFC subject to finances, however you need a full time groundsman for these FIFA rated ones, so we could invest in the grass growing lighting rigs and a part time groundzman for next season maybe at a fraction of the cost of plastic?
I know some of you are not keen on these surfaces?

I've never experienced one but whenever I watch a match played on one I don't like the way the ball rolls or bounces and too often the ball seems to get caught between foot and surface causing stumbles. I much prefer the game played on grass but our current pitch, despite the rest it has had, is breaking up badly, especially along the west stand side. The far side looks better, especially towards the south east corner of the pitch.
I'd rather we invested in an experienced groundsman than an artificial surface... Although the latter does offer the opportunity to have stadium events in the summer.

The state of the pitch is a concern but I don't think that we are the only club that will be experiencing these problems. A bit of initiative is called for. While it will never be a bowling green at this time of the year I am sure that if approached in the right way green keepers from one of the local golf courses could give advice if not some help, and there are also the students at Oatridge College . Failing that sure some supporters, including myself, could devote a few hours to getting it some sort of order for games.

Thats a great shout about the Students College at Oatridge Ive no idea how we as a supporters group approach the club or approach them to suggest this.
