Our scope for making significant changes is obviously limited and the need for radical alterations is also not pressing - when we are at the top of the league and looking like we have a strong squad. However, there are clearly one or two refinements afoot.
Declan Gallagher (in) Liam Watt (out) Mark Millar (rumoured to arrive today from QoS).
Anything else on the horizon?

Morgyn Neil gone to Stranraer. Scotsman says we tried to sign Simon Ferry and Scott Brown, midfielders, from Peterhead.

Where did you see that Neill is away? Nothing on OCS or the Twitter feed on there....
And he's on the bench in the Blue Toon today.

Millar & Gallagher both in starting line up which looks very odd with 4 centre backs making up the defence.

Crighton seems to have worked out being put into the RB position to accommodate Gallagher and Halkett as our 2 CB, he got put into the SPFL's team of the week. I think Longridge would be better at LB than Lithgow though.
Rumour has it that Neill is going on loan to Stranraer.

Rumour had him already away a few posts above, while he was on the bench at Peterhead.... But he does seem superfluous now

Kelly loan extended until the end of the season Or has he? The news seems to have disappeared from he OCS Kelly has definitely had his loan extended with us. It's also still on the OCS so not sure why it would be suggested otherwise. I think we should be content with the squad as it stands although the manager may have to let a couple of the fringe players leave to balance the books, having brought in Gallagher and Millar.

Yeah Kelly's loan extension is back up again, it had disappeared earlier.
Meant to be some news on players contracts being extended this week, would be great news if Pittman, Buchanan and Halkett all sign on for another couple of seasons.

Gives us a 20 year old with 6 career goals.... Not expecting too much from this signing. Hopefully we are where he finally begins to shine.

So after signing Todorov from hearts we have sent Dale Carrick on loan to Cowdenbeath
Personally I'd rather we didn't sign Todorov and kept Carrick

So after signing Todorov from hearts we have sent Dale Carrick on loan to Cowdenbeath Personally I'd rather we didn't sign Todorov and kept Carrick Seems a bit of a snap judgement unless you've seen Todorov play a lot. I haven't. I think Dale Carroll has a lot to offer but he's been blighted by injury for much of his career. He's similar in style to Mullen and Buchanan so he offers freshness rather than something different when he comes on. If he gets games at Cowdenbeath then that'll help the club and him. Todorov is a 6 feet 3 inch striker that has the potential to give us something different from the bench. He could be effective at holding the ball up - not our strength as a team - and could be a benefit in either box (attacking and from defensive situations). If we have good deliveries from Cadden and Mullin, or from set pieces, we now have somebody tall enough to cause problems for our opponents in the air. How many headers have we scored this year? Fewer than we may have anticipated. Whether Todorov is up to scratch remains to be seen but let's give him the chance to show us what he's got.

I have nothing against Todorov and hope he can come up with a goal when we need it. I'd have liked Carrick to stay in order for us to develop him and give him a desire to remain at the club. We have a really good squad right now and I'd like to see us develop our own player for the long term rather than take Todorov in the short term.

Tend to agree with CT103.
We had two tall guys earlier in the season but we did not play to their strengths whenever they came on as subs, which was few & far between anyway.
We were guilty of firing high balls up to Buchanan & Mullen and then when changed it up with the tall guys coming on, they invariably got the ball to feet out wide and were never in the box to get on the end of crosses.
So unless we have a fundamental change in tactics with Todorov, then I can't see him having much of an impact.
It seems to me that Todorov could have stayed at Cowdenbeath on loan from Hearts and played up font rather than as a defender & Carrick could have stayed here & continued to offer a reasonable alternative to either of the first choice players. I had thought Todorov had come in to give us 4 forwards to choose from & while I still think signing a real RB should be a priority, I also think a 4th forward would be an asset

Yeah there was a lot of knee jerk reaction to Carrick going out on loan before anyone knew exactly what the facts were, and nobody has seen Todorov play for us yet so lets wait and see how he gets on before making any judgements on this. Carrick will be getting full games to get his sharpness up, we've got a clause in his loan deal where we can bring him back at any time, so we're not really gambling that Todorov will work out, we can get a fully fit Carrick back if he doesn't. We've got a lot of height in the team with four big centre backs and a big striker too so we really should be scoring from set pieces, our deliveries haven't been great from them but Millar looks like he'll change that, he put in the delivery for Gallagher's goal against Peterhead.
