Given that we are running at a loss this season the answer is obviously no. I'm assuming that if he signs, the board are assuming his performances will assure promotion. Speculating to accumulating has served us well previously... Given he is trying to reestablish himself as a player, I suspect he won't be that expensive. Personally, I think we are more in need of acquiring a properly signed keeper and a proper right back than another CB It doesn't matter if Gallagher will be on £100 or £1000 a week - we're still spending more money than what we're bringing in. If whoever is funding the shortfall insists on doing so, I'd much rather we found a long-term solution for the GK or RB positions, like you say. Good authority that hes signing tomorrow and will be in the squad for Saturday, tag and all, whether we like it or not. Clearly the fans views not that important to board when trying to run a football club. Do the Supporters' Trust have a view on this? Do the Trust even still exist save for the brilliant band of volunteers saving the club money?

Any news if McMillan is signing at RB too?

I was told maximum of 2 in, maybe dependant on if we were to get rid of any. Not sure the rush to sign another centre half who's going to be off the pace and very prone to a mistake when defence been pretty good so far. Time will tell I suppose.

Now that Declan is back in the fold, I'm sure everyone will want to put any differences they have to one side and get behind him, and the team, for the final push until the end of the season. The next few games are absolutely crucial. We need everyone pulling together if we are to win this league outright and avoid the stress of the playoffs.

Going by the comments on the Facebook announcement of his signing, the overwhelming majority of fans are happy with the signing - me included - which would actually equate to the fans views being important indeed to the board. *Thumbs Up*

Yeah that's fair enough. I'm not against it by any means, sometimes in the past the boldness of the board hasn't worked out as best we all hoped. Obviously a decent player but personally don't see the rush in a league we were doing ok in. Wouldn't want the boat rocked. Maybe the board thinking already to next year as we'd be in driving seat to sign again in the summer. Just hope it works out, think he was pushing for a move to Raith on release, probably thinks he can get a club higher again in the summer, so chances are we will be left in lurch again come June. Which goes back to what's the point and risk in the first place when we're doing ok.

I'd hazard a guess that the actual majority of fans who chose not to post on facebook are left with a foul taste in their mouth at the conduct of the individual involved in the court case and also the board for their preposterous 'victim' statement before his time in jail and now this subsequent re-signing. It feels like the club has no morals, if it ever had.

Liam Watt freed to go to Brechin and Mark Millar joins us from QoS. Shame about Watt but he wasn't getting much game time so probably a good move for him going to Brechin. Millar gives us another experienced player from a higher level in CM. With Dec coming into our defence, Millar midfield, and Carrick back from injury being like a new signing, we've strengthened our team in every out-field area.

Yeah but it is a greater indicator than the four or five posters on here that are against Gallagher being signed, and claiming to speak for the majority of Livi fans. I suspect most Livi fans wont be bothered one way or the other and will just be pleased if he improves our defence.

I done no such thing. Spoke my opinion only. Some might agree some won't.
Simply asked if the board ever consider canvassing fans opinions on moral issues like re-signing a convicted man.
Not saying it's right or wrong.

Any news if McMillan is signing at RB too? Good stuff? In what way "good stuff"? It does not matter how desperate we are to sign a CB, Declan (appropraite name Dec..as is Decked his victim) should not be signing for LFC. Dundee let him go for the reputational aspect, ours is non existant thats why fans stay away, we should be a good news comnunity club, a club that even its bar should be open 7 days a week, and thats not the bar for any assualt charges. This post has caused quite a stir amongst those that post here, he is not needed at the club, we are doing fine without him. Its hardly good stuff unless of course your our assistant manager plying his trade....!

Its hardly good stuff unless of course your our assistant manager plying his trade....! i think you better clarify what you mean by this... Are you suggesting that it is only good stuff if you are Martindale, assisting in the coaching of a pretty decent defender in Gallagher?... In which case you clearly agree with Jonsnow, and in which case why are you suggesting otherwise? Or (and I seriously suggest you think carefully before replying) Are you suggesting that Gallagher would not be averse to using something that Martindale has allegedly (I have seen no proof to this effect) supplied in the past?

Fairly obvious why it's good stuff, he's a quality player that will add to our promotion bid, excellent signing for League One. He conducted himself well during his time at Livi, I aint going to get my knickers in a twist over the morality of what he may or may not have done and am happy to see us signing a cracking player. I believe he made a stupid decision getting involved with his Uncle in the assault, I personally don't believe he used a baseball bat on the victim and am willing to give him the benefit of the doubt over it, you aren't and that's your prerogative but don't try and tell me I should do and spit the dummy because everyone doesn't agree with you. From what I remember Dundee didn't let him go over a reputation aspect either, they offered him an extended contract several times and he knocked them back, then Hartley got fed up waiting on him making his mind up the third time he was offered a new deal. Good to see the big fella making a difference already, scoring our first goal to help us secure all three points today.

By the way I don't have a facebook account

Slightly off-topic but I do believe Morgyn Neill is a better defender that either Crighton or Lithgow (long throw ins aside)
