I would argue that it was being played as a defensive midfielder that he wasn't suited to. He needed to be the guy who dictated the tempo rather than the guy who won the ball back.
Also, he wasn't really given the chance to really make any impact by only being given parts of 3 games. I saw the home game he started and while he struggled for pace, it was also clear that his footballing brain was way ahead of team mates who failed to see what he could see.
As an ex-Livi player, maybe he'd be interested in managing the club? I can but dream!
