4-1 East Fife, nah kidding, 3-1 or 3-2 Livi, might've put us down for another clean sheet but with Lithgow being suspended our defence isn't going to be at full strength.

At least a 3 goal victory for the Lions. Three one will have to do.

4-1 East Fife, nah kidding, 3-1 or 3-2 Livi, might've put us down for another clean sheet but with Lithgow being suspended our defence isn't going to be at full strength. 3-1 it is then. Great time for us to get our first goal, lovely passing team goal on the brink of HT, well finished off by Buchanan too. Cracking free kick by Miller took me completely by surprise, just wasn't expecting us to score as we haven't scored many goals from free kicks. Mullen did really well to get the ball and run into the box when their keeper wiped him out, and Buchanan is dependable as ever at scoring from penalties. A reverse of the game at Bayview with us winning 3-1 and them getting 2 red cards, and by jings I enjoyed it. Little grinning boy Insall sat on the bench nearly all game too, bet he wasn't finding his day out at the Tony Mac Arena very enjoyable.

Another good 3 points but I didn't think we played particularly well. East Fife surprised me as they didn't park the bus but we're pretty well organised in defence and looked dangerous going forward. I thought they were on top for most of the first half. On the plus side I would say our opener was the best move of the first half and came at a very good time. Miller's free kick was excellent and I thought it would knock the fight out of the Fifers but back they came. Poor defending by us but their scorer did well. Clear pen for us but I was a wee bit surprised it was a red as I was under the impression that there is no longer double jeopardy. Penalty and yellow card if in the box, free kick and red card if outside the box. Buchanan was calmness personified, waiting for the keeper to move before rolling it into the effectively empty net.
Miller was outstanding, Pittman wasn't far behind. Defence looked dodgy and I think Lithgow must be the steadying presence as Crighton always plays better with Lithgow beside him.

First half was very poor today , east fife were unlucky to not go in leading. Good time to score first goal , good move. Second half was a lot better but we need to start get back to passing the ball , far to much long balls missing the midfield

East Fife were the better team first half, we settled better in the second half, I thought the rules were changed for the first sending off where it would be a yellow and a penalty for a foul in the box and not penalised twice, any help on this ?

I thought the same as you; the only thing I could think of was that perhaps the defender that was getting back to his goal swayed the ref into thinking it wasn't a last man or goal scoring opportunity, so the foul was adjudged as violent conduct in its own right. Bottom line is I don't know but I think he got it wrong, not that I'm complaining as it makes a change to get a decision going our way

Not seeing where East Fife were unlucky not to go in leading first half, Kelly barely had a save to make all game, any shot they had in that first half went wide or over the bar. We weren't great but they never troubled us either, don't think anyone could've complained about going in 0-0, but we made a great break up the pitch and scored a superb team goal, so on that alone we deserved it. Cadden and Miller did especially well and Buchanan who started the move, ran up the pitch and got on the end of Miller's cut back to score the goal. Great time to score as well.
We seem to be pacing ourselves better in games now too, playing better 2nd half and winning games by 2 or 3 goals, at the start of the season we were going for it in the first half but fading in the 2nd half, running out of steam.

Bottom line is I don't know but I think he got it wrong, not that I'm complaining as it makes a change to get a decision going our way Goalkeepers are no longer certain to face annordering off automatically for a foul in the penalty area where the referee judges that a genuine attempt was made to play the ball. Otherwise, for offences such as pulling back an opponent will require a red card if denying an obvious goal scoring opportunity. For serious foul play or violent conduct, a red card applies no matter where on the park the offence takes place. Since the keeper made no attempt whatsoever to play the ball - he simply took out Mullen - then a red card and a penalty was the correct decision.
