Another good performance, when again we were not at our best, however in saying that we were getting close to our best, just need to cut out a few silly things and pick out the right pass when it's on. I think PSJ were a better side than the scoreline suggested and were certainly a better team than the Raith team we played last week. For that reason it was pleasing to rack up 8 goals however was dissapointed to see those 3 goals go in at the other end. Tom tried to get everyone game time though and this is going to happen when changes are made as it takes time for a subby to get into the game, never mind 4 or 5. One thing I would like to point out from the last few games is our eagerness to get forward at the first time of asking, even if the options are not there. Sometimes you need to go backwards to go forwards and be patient in the build up. There was one goal when myself, Tom and Tich knocked a few short passes backwards and forwards until the chance to attack became available and it worked well. I am guilty of sometimes trying the world cup passes as much as anyone, but at the same time lets use the heads and think about where the easy passes are. If the ball forward isn't on, then go backwards and start again. In terms of player performances I thought most of the lads had a good game. Jordan was sharp and done well to get off his line and play as a sweeper at times. Thought Mcginty was close to getting MOTM, I know you said to me afterwards you were not to happy with your performance, but I thought you made some vital interceptions and swept up well at the back to cover for others. Kev and Dean put in a good shift at full backs and were always keen to get on the ball. I think Dean doesnt get as much praise as he deserves TBH week in week out he puts in a steady eddy performance and doesnt really put a foot wrong, always plays the simple pass and gets rid of it when possible, keep it going mate. Tom was a joy to play alongside in the middle (despite the moaning), he was always in the oppositions face and getting the foot in when needed. Especially in the second half as I looked to get forward more, he was there to cover. Tich and Dave looking like there getting a good understanding and banging in the goals between them, would be good to get Tich there every week MOTM - Without a doubt goes to Dave this week, He was everywhere. Finishing was first class with every part of your body and think he proved the old saying correct that defending starts with the strikers, lost count of the number of times he got himself back to help win the ball back, again keep it up!! DONKEY(S) - Mark and Jordan for both making false claims about where they were (Jordan - I'm looking out my window and Mark aint there........... Mcginty - Im outside Jordans house and he aint there???........ 2 minutes later there both in the same car!!)

Cheers for that Rich.
Not a lot to add to what Richie's already said. Brilliant again to see so many names down for the game and a big squad turn up. Brilliant effort from everyone. Special mention to Joe too as he dropped out after seeing we had such a big squad and that probably resulted in more boys getting more game time so top effort there.
Obviously, great gesture from Paul and Scudge to help the PSJ boys out with a half each. Thought you both played well for them too so that was good to see.
Thought we improved on last weeks performance for sure but again, didn't have to be at the top of our game. Was good to get a healthy lead going into HT too.
Think we need to give each other a break at times when it comes to what folk are shouting. Thought Yorkie and DCP were on the end of some out of order shouts at times. That was Yorkie's first game back - we all had 90 minutes under our belt from last week so he was naturally going to be a bit rustier than us. He had a murder shift trying to get up and down that flank constantly and at times, I feel boys could have used their energy to try and help cover him rather than hammering him for being caught up the park. He still managed to tee me up for two so a good day at the office from him as far as I'm concerned.
Likewise, DCP is naturally a goalkeeper so he's never going to be able to stride away from folk down the wing. He's arguably a victim of his own success having done a cracking job up top when we've had poor turnouts but it's a whole different game playing on a wing. He's a bit younger than us so obviously a bit more naive at times given lack of experience (especially given that most times he's played generally, he's been in goals).
Just think when we're doing as well as we are and know that every player in the squad is capable of a good shift, the last thing we need to do is slaughter our own boys for having a bad day/a tough spell. Lets save our energy and use it to helping them get their head up and pulling things back together as a team.
Tom was forced in to two changes with Daz and Chris missing out but what a luxury to be able to replace them with Kev and Yorkie. Backline was solid when it mattered - a real shame for them that we couldn't hold out for a clean sheet given the general performance. Another thing Richie touched on was Dean's performances of late. he's slowly turned himself into a first pick on the team sheet and has really made the left back position his own. Still learning as we go but he gets his job done well and very, very rarely has a bad game.
I'd argue with anyone that we've got the best midfield players in this league and the 4 that started yesterday showed exactly that. Yorkie and Paul delievered on the wings and Paul deserved a goal for his performances. Tom's know how to shore up the midfield and fight like a dog has won us so many games at times and yesterday was no different. Him doing a lot of the donkey work and defensive duties allows Richie more freedom to create and it works wonders for us. When Richie gets forward he's frightening and put in another massive shift yesterday, managing to set at least one up and grab a goal himself.
Delighted to be back playing with Tich upfront. If I ever get myself to a stage where I'm half as good as he is, I'll be happy. Puts himself about, sniffs out chances, links up well with the midfield and bangs in goals for fun. Another key reason to the success of the team just now.
All the subbies done what was asked when they came on. Conceding the goals wasn't down to the personel of the subs, more the disruption of the flow of the team but that's tough to work on with so many changes and such a big lead.
By the way - what a goal for number 8 (I think). PSJ didn't touch the ball from kick-off, we knock about for fun, a good four or five players involved in the move before slipping Tich away and he rolls it in. So simple, so good and something we're so capable of doing regularly when we all stay switched on.
MotM - Richie Kay just pips Tom for me. A constant threat going forward, always involved in any attacking moves, set a goal up and grabbed one himself. Good shift.
Donkey - Tich for trying to claim the most blatant OG in the world was his goal.

I thot 1st half we played well not our best, we put ourselves into more trouble than what they did. Our passing was sloppy I thot, mine including which could of cost us a goal or two but thankfully Jordan was alert. 2nd half we came out like we ended the first dominant and we made some subs to give everyone a game, which is good we can do that coz as Tom say in the changing room the boys on the bench could be in the starting line up. There 3 goals came from set plays which shows making the subs didn't disrupt our performance.
Motm was between ritchie, dave and tom but I'm gonna give mine to Tom as Dave said he did all the dog work and was constantly wanting and winning the ball well done mate Donkey... I'm gonna say no one, I don't even re call any stupid comments or moments in the game

Richie and Dave have pretty much said it all for me.
I found what was said in the dressing room - we've just won 8-3 and are still able to find faults and aren't 100% happy with the performance - to be a good sign of what we expect of ourselves and the standards we're now wanting to live up to.
MOTM - Dave for 4 goals and I think 4 assists..? Donkey - Jordan and McGinty for their Chuckie-esq nonsense

MotM - Dave for an excellent shift. 4 assist and 4 goals could have been a lot more. Donkey - The Jordon and McGinty show.

Agree with pretty much all on here lads.
Similar to the Raith game last week, we done exactly what was required of us. Brilliant to have the strength in depth throughout the team. Prior to this season, I'd tell anyone that our starting 11 could match anyone in the league. Now we have a full squad. I couldn't name a starting 11 if everyone was available. Good times.
Definitely agree that I was moanier than usual on Saturday (shock) and apologies to the lads who were on the receiving end. What I will say though, is no matter what the score is, I'm never happy if: a) we drop the tempo because we are far ahead b) we try fancy flicks when the simple pass is on c) we don't switch on and look for the quick free kick/throw in etc. Especially in the first half, I was managing to find myself in an unbelievable amount of space but we resorted to playing the killer ball when if we worked it a little more we would be able to carve out an opportunity. Like Richie, I'm also at fault for trying these killer balls when there is really no need but when we have the composure throughout the park, we destroy teams.
As I said, it is brilliant that we can pick out faults, have disagreements and discuss what we can do better because we are on top form at the moment. Everyone in the team is pulling their weight and we are not just relying on a couple of players like previous seasons but genuinely having monster performances from players all over the park. Keep doing what we are doing, keep churning the results out and we will see the rewards.
Massive thanks to Paul Kelly & Scudge for helping out PSJ. Always tough to play against us but it makes all the difference knowing we have guys in our team willing to do all they can to help out. Much respect.
MoTM: Agree with the plaudits Dean has been getting. Solid to the team and became a real asset in what was a problem position for us before both him & Dougie started doing the business. Superb performances from all over the park but giving it to Dave this week. 4 goals. Boomtown.
Donkey: Naecvnt.

Think everything that needs to be said has been. But i'll put my hands up and admit I wasn't at my best on Saturday, but like Dave said it was my first game back for a while so naturally I was a bit rusty.
MOTM for me was Dave worked really hard and took his goals brilliantly.
Donkey no-one, although Paul Kelly's miss when I set him up by accident was quite a bad one. But am sure he meant to miss!

Brilliant to see the turnout the last two weeks lads. Nobody can ever take away winning a league or cup and the memories that go with it...at any level...so lets not make this just another season..lets make this THE SEASON.
PSJ were a good footballing side, however due to having a few older players it meant that in truth we could have ran up a cricket score. If they had a bunch of boys with the energy levels we had then I guarantee that would have been a different story. The defence is looking more and more like a unit each week and the two centre backs are becoming more vocal as they become more comfortable that they are giving out the right instructions. Keep this up.
MOTM - Richie - Few contenders. However week after week you easily control the tempo of the game and your composure echoes through the rest of the team.
Donkey - DCP - The backheel man.
Special mention to Paul Kelly and Scudge for filling in for PSJ. Good effort and bodes well for us as a club.
On to next week....
