Feeling a bit more confident after Saturday's performance, although Falkirk will be much more of a challenge than St Mirren's woeful team.
Would be delighted with a draw from this, but think that Falkirk will nick it. 1-0 Falkirk for me.

Just want us to turn up and put in an effort, if everyone tries their best then we can't ask for anything more. Realistically we're more likely to get something from the QoS game, anything from this game would be an unexpected bonus.
Good chance for DJ to challenge for his place, apparently we're trying to get McCallum back for the QoS game but would do DJ no harm to put in a good solid performance.

Why was hippo at left back away at one of the best teams in the league? If Longridge was on the bench we have to assume he was fit..
All in all, not much in the game, they took the two chances that we made easy for them. Can only remember the Buchanan chance in the first half, and hippos in the second half. Poor performance all round in my opinion, albeit against a pretty good team. Although they weren't firing all cylinders they looked so much more comfortable in possession than us.
I'm very disappointed with Ben Gordon. Thoiught he'd be a good signing for us, but yet to see it. The amount of clearances and headers he misconnects with is ridiculous.

Disappointed with tonight's performance. Difficult playing conditions in that wind and that affected both teams. Although we hit the post in both halves - Buchanan and Mullen - we didn't have too many other chances. Hippo's header was cleared off the line too but we didn't threaten much. Having said that, I don't recall DJ having a single save to make (genuinely). Typical Houston team - cynical, full of gamesmanship and applying pressure on officials whenever possible. Awful. Not sure why we have a centre back at right back, or a left winger at left back when we have a proper right back and a proper left back on the bench. Both Gail's came from the left back area. Not blaming Hippo because it's not his position. A couple of strange substitutions tonight too but I didn't fancy is to get anything there in the circumstances. Now we have a chance to get points on Saturday. Will Esposito be available for that squad? Will we have a new manager? Will we have 7 on the bench? Lots to look forward too. Finally, good turn out from the travelling support tonight.

Finally, good turn out from the travelling support tonight. 248 apparently.. Better than our usual meagre support.. Don't think a lot of them will be rushing to come back after tonights performance..

While I can understand the idea of sending out a different line up so as not to tire the guys out when they have another game on Saturday....I have to ask why so many changes? Hopkin has been at the club long enough to know what they are all capable of so doesn't need to see how good/bad/indifferent they are & the team that played on Saturday at Paisley won comfortably, so why change it at all. Frankly if full time pro footballers are not fit enough to cope with 3 games in 8 days then they're as well going part time...cause Alloa managed it & beat us in the 3rd of those games.
Saturday's result gave me hope that Hopkin could maybe just work; but his decision to "rotate" a winning side leaves me wondering again. Granted Falkirk are a much better side than Saints but it just seems odd to me when you change a winning team for no good reason.

Ah well decent effort but no cigar.
Pretty even first half with Livi unlucky not to go in 1-0 up after hitting the post. 2nd half Falkirk upped their tempo and closed us down more, we gave them a bit too much room around our box and they punished us for it, slipping the ball into Miller for him to stick it away. 2nd goal followed shortly after that one with them doing to us what we had done to St Mirren, whipping a ball into our box for Miller to get his 2nd.
Mullen coming on made a difference to us but again unlucky hitting the post with his 2nd shot from rage, first one went narrowly wide, dear knows why Hopkin left him out of the starting line up after being in the starting 11 against St Mirren. Hippo also came close with his header cleared off the line, and White missed a good chance heading over when he was unmarked at the back post from a corner.
Wasn't to be though and Falkirk ran out comfortable winners.
Hopkin also dropped White to the bench and started Hippo at LB, some bizarre messing about with a team that won 4-1, think we need a fresh managerial team as Hopkin is part of the same problem Burchill was and we'll never get any consistency with the same chopping and changing going on every game.

Hippo can bolt as far as I am concerned. He's not the type of player Livi FC needs it's generally all about him & not about the team.

Really? A forward being played as a full back & its about him? If it was about him he'd strop off somewhere & say "I'm a forward, play me there or not at all"

Just watch his his play and how he goes about it no matter where he plays. I stand by my statement he's not the type of player Livi FC needs. He he should never have started last night.

I think he has flashes of brilliance, but I get the impression that he thinks that he's far better than the team he's in. He should never have been played at left back last night, he rarely performs his defensive duties when he's played in a more attacking role, so playing him in a defensive position was ludicrous.

I don't agree with the Hippo bashing but agree he shouldn't have been played at LB, especially when Longridge was available. I like Hippo's unpredictability, he gets the ball in a lot of tussles, scrappy looking style that can get us in behind defences, he's like Mullen too, in that he has a shot on him to score from outside the box. I liked it earlier in the season when Mullen was on the right wing and Hippo was on the left wing, gave us width to stretch teams. Both can cut inside and have a good pop at goal too.

Get real. He got himself booked last Sat for kicking the ball away. We were 4-1 up at the time. Terrible decision by a player. Another daft challenge (esp given the conditions) & he was off. last night he constantly tried to play the "silky" pass when the game was crying out for simple football. He was also yards off the pace last night & often out of position. Whenever i I watch him play he is always about himself never about the team. Time for him to pack his bags and depart back south again, where he struggled before.

Didn't agree with the substitution of hippo last night ,longridge should have been brought on and pushed hippo up ...Gary Glen was once again posted missing especially in the 2 nd half ,should have been Him that was taken off .

Yep, Glen wasn't coping with the windy conditions, was great against St Mirren with the balls he was putting in but it just wasn't working last night trying to cross balls into the box in that wind. Hippo was looking threatening when he pushed up, with Longridge on he'd have been abe to work overlaps with him and get in behind them hitting the bye line.

Hippo actually put in a few good tackles in defence but I doubt you want to acknowledge that, his best attributes are in a forward position though, so makes no sense putting him at LB when we've got Longridge fit and available to play there. I'd have Hippo on the left wing and Mullen on the right. Both have good shots on them and the abilty to beat a few players and have a pop at goal, something we've been missing when plan A isn't working for us, playing it into the box to score.

The decision to play Hippo at left back was nonsensical, especially with Longridge on the bench.
JS, we play a 5-3-2 (or 3-5-2, depending on how you look at it) with 2 wing backs.. Surely playing Mullen and Hippo as your wingers leaves us very exposed down the flanks as, whilst I rate their offensive capabilities, I don't see them as possessing great defensive qualities. I agree with other posters, often Hippo tries to play the 'Hollywood Pass' or tries too many tricks and inevitably gives the ball away. I think with the conditions on Tuesday night, the team needed to revert back to basics and didn't require the poncey flicks being exhibited..
I actually like Hippolyte going forward, but as I said, playing him at left back against a good Falkirk team was ludicrous and it was clear that he was out of his depth as both the goals came from that side of the pitch. I'm not singling him out for criticism, in fact I'd lay the blame at Hopkin's feet for his ridiculous team changes.

I think you'll find that both JS & I agree with you EL - that he shouldn't be played at LB when we have a fit left back available, however he put in a decent shift at LB earlier in the season when Longridge was out but that was a stopgap measure at the time that seems to have stuck in the mind of the interim manager. However if we played a strict 3-5-2 with the wide midfielders playing more as wingers than wing backs then I can see why it would be tempting to use him for that.
Dr Who...I believe you need to regenerate...preferably leaving Clara behind.

They need football grafters players who will come in & play for the team. question: when was Hippo's last performance that you can remember where he gave 100% for the team & you as a fan felt he had given 100% effort? I was trying to remember and I can't it's always fancy moves and all about Hippo. we all agree on 1 thing Hippo is no left back!!

Last time I saw him play was when he came on for the second half against Alloa & he was by no means the worst performer that day. Last time I saw him start was against the Huns & IMO he ran himself into the ground; scored a decent goal but should have been subbed earlier than the 89th minute for 2 reasons 1. he'd been booked 2. he was clearly tiring from running himself into the round.
IMO he played for the team in both of those appearances.

Yeah I agree with you Longridge should've started at LB, however I wouldn't have taken Hippo off when Longridge came on, i'd have moved him up to an attacking left sided midfielder as I thought when Hippo had got up the wing he was causing them problems with his tenacious style of play, when he wrestles for the ball and then goes on a direct run at players. Defenders hate that kind of player as they're scared to jump in and he gets them on the back foot. It can get us into trouble when he tries that fancy stuff in defence though, if he loses the ball then we're the ones on the back foot. Perhaps when Esposito's cleared for us to play we'll have him and Longridge on the wings in the 3-5-2/5-3-2 formation and have more balance to our team, he's meant to be quick so hopefully he's also got a bit of skill to get past players too, though if you've got pace to knock the ball past a player you usually get past them until they double up on you.
