Great result yesterday, but let's not get carried away.
I am not actually sure he wants the job.

A great win yesterday for sure but he'll need to plan for more consistent results than he's had as a partner to Burchill.

Mark Burchill was in charge when we beat QoS 4-1, then won 3-0 at home to Raith, so lets not get carried away with a win against St Mirren.
If he was interested in the job and we were considering offering it to him, I think we would be better with an extended interim position to see how consistent the team can be under Hopkin.

Would be best option financially

Not if we end up relegated. He has had a good start against a team we all probably thought were beatable but he was the previous manager's sidekick for the Alloa attrocity and the Dumbarton debacle, so as JS says, we shouldn't get carried away but 1 result.

No. That would be a cheap option. We need only look what's just happened to Burchill.
All credit to him for keeping us up last season given the circumstances but it was pretty obvious his inexperience was taking us nowhere this season other than down.
Livi are not the club to cut your managerial teeth on. We need an experienced guy like Danny Lennon or Billy Reid. A safe pair of hands is what's needed given our current status. Hopkin for me is not in that category

I doubt that the apparently already burgeoning outgoings of the Club will offer much in the way of options for attracting managers.
I agree with jonsnow that Hopkin should be given time - but is that an option considering our league position and the fact that we're marking off the last few days of the year?

Hopkin should be given as much time as it takes to decide who the next manager is going to be...whether that is him or someone else.
If he gets them playing and winning the games they ought to win and punching above their weight in games they aren't expected to do well in, then give him the job, if it is the same old inconsistent form and no clue how to change it, then get someone else.

I'll give Hopkin all my support whilst he's in charge, however, I also think that this would be a poor appointment in the long run. I'd like to see Billy Reid or at a push Jimmy Calderwood.
Credit to Hopkin though, the team seemed much more organised on Saturday at St Mirren.

I've thought this for a while.. this seems like an apt time to share this uncanny resemblance between David Hopkin and 'the Incredibles' villain..

Quite obviously Hopkin posed for the animators!

He has no "s" he is a singular Hopkin....he still looks like Buddy from The Incredibles....according to the Courier he believes his strengths lie in coaching & that he makes players better.
At least he has some self belief.

He made to many changes in the Falkirk game IMO. Appreciate conditions were different from the St Mirren game, but we need consistency on & off the park.
What always gets me is he was part of burchills coaching team, so why not make these changes when part of his team? Can't be because Burchy was to head strong.

I think we need someone with experience and personally don't think DH is manger material. He can gain this as someones no.2 I'm also a bit old school and think someone of his age and position should be portraying the correct image to the players - he should at least look physically fit and capable of training along side them - different case if he where older , say 55+

Evidence today that he has nothing more to offer than Burchill.
Who was the guy beside him wearing the grey woolie hat?

This concurs with what I heard but not knowing what he looks like (and not really being able to see him even if I did) I thought I'd ask.
