Late goal show
Both sides received a standing ovation after a seven-goal thriller but it was Livingston who emerged with the points despite the Sons’ late push that gave the visitors a real fright.
There was little hint of the drama to follow as the visitors led by a single Iain Russell strike at the interval.
However, after Stefan Scougall extended Livingston’s lead and Mark Gilhaney pulled one back, four goals were crammed into the last six minutes.
Livingston boss Gareth Evans said: “We knew it would be difficult coming down here because Dumbarton have been on an incredible run since Iain Murray took over [as manager]. To get a win, albeit with a disappointing performance, is great.
“We had a few tired legs at the end but we managed to sneak it.”

Dumbarton 3 Livingston 4
IAIN RUSSELL revealed the ref was spot on to refuse him a penalty — and a hat-trick bid.
Russell struckm in each half before going down in the box under a challenge by Sons defender Andy Graham.
But ref John McKendrick was not caught out by the incident. Russell said: “He got a foot on the ball — it wasn’t a penalty.
“Of course I was thinking about getting a hat-trick but the most important thing is the three points — especially against the form team in the league.
“That’s me on 11 goals now and getting a headed goal is rare for me, I cannot remember the last time I scored with my head!
“It took so long to go in that I thought it was going wide.”
Russell helped the Lions seal the points in a seven-goal epic.

Strange decision to swap CB's for me. And to take Scougs off instead of Foxy when we were trying to close the game out. Getting quite worried about Sparky now, was almost non-existent today and his head is always down. In my opinion he needs a swift kick up the arse and dropped for a game or two, unfortunately we've got nobody to fill in for him! Still no word on Luongo, surprised he wasn't mentioned at the fans forum meeting. With Jesus having been booked early on and us going on to open a comfortable lead, I think Evans was taking Jesus off incase he ended up sent off. It also gave Watson a run out when the game was ( or should have been) sealed. Scougall was limping heavily when he went off to so that was more of an injury thing than anything else. I said elsewhere, I'm a big fan of McNulty but I'd go with Russell and Morton up top this week and give Sparky a wee rest from this one. Morton's been coming on as a sub at tough times for us (trying to get back level with Morton/trying to hold out vs Pars) but yesterday was a chance for him to come on at 2-0 and play with a bit more freedom and his goal was an absolute peach. Only a great tackle stopped him from scoring just before hand after wrestling free of the defence. A huge win yesterday - all this talk of games in hand is great but we need to get points on board from them and yesterday was the first of those three. We were poor in the first-half mind you and really scored against the run of play. Still, was good to get the rub of the green for a change as that's the sort of thing that goes against us usually. Top win - some great performances and three more points on the table! Get in! COLTS!

A very dull first half & lucky to have scored when we did, but hey themselves the breaks Second half was good, but we don't half make it difficult for ourselves by letting them back into the game. McNeill great shot stopper & convinced he saves us more than costs us, but yesterday some of his kicking was woeful. Kyle for me seems off the pace since he's got back from injury. He doesn't seem to want to get forward like McCann does on the other side. Good to see Watson back thought it was a gamble, but it all turned out good from his perspective. Roll on next week

Scougall was limping heavily when he went off to so that was more of an injury thing than anything else. Apparently he's had to withdraw from this weeks Scotland U21 squad.

What was JCAGTL saying to their defender after our second? Answers on a postcard to the usual address.

Jesus was subbed due to a shoulder injury he picked up in the first half when he fell akwardly on it,
Cracking second half performance and that goal from Jordan Morton, take a bow son
More of the same on Saturday please but with a tighter defence. Jesus is solid at the back and I think he could be in with a shout as POTY in my opinion, long way to go before deciding and a lot can change it but he is really becoming a great player for us along with Andreu and Scougall

Remember, Kyle's a midfielder by trade so mayeb still feels a bit awkward stuck out on the right hand side of defence. He looked a lot more comfortable when he stepped into the midfield when Booth came on. With Talbot on the fringes of coming back, I reckon we're likely to see Kyle fighting for a place in the midfield.
A massive month ahead now - Dumbarton, Cowdenbeath, Hamilton and Airdrie. 3 of those are at home and all 4 are winnable. With the top 3 all due ot play each other soon, we could really do ourselves a favour with a few wins on the trot. Dumbarton just managed to pick up 15 points from 18 before playing us so if we can hit a run like that, things might very well get interesting.

Win for Livingston still leaves coach less than thrilled
When the Cowdenbeath and Partick Thistle match at Central Park was postponed, the game between Dumbarton and Livingston became the First Division’s ‘Only Show in Town’ with the West Lothian men making the most of being in the spotlight to win 4-3.
Despite their success Livingston’s head coach Gareth Evans had a mixed response as he explained: “When we lost at Morton a couple of weeks ago I was pleased with our performance. We have now beaten Dunfermline and Dumbarton without playing that well.”
“I will accept the results but I am looking for better when we meet them again next Saturday.”

Livingston glad to see off Dumbarton in thriller
By CALUM LESLIE
LIVINGSTON defender Paul Watson backed Dumbarton to stay up – after making his long-awaited recovery in Livi’s 4-3 victory away to the relegation-threatened side.
Iain Russell’s goal put the visitors ahead at the break before Stefan Scougall, Russell again and Jordan Morton struck, with Mark Gilhaney, Alan Lithgow and Bryan Prunty hitting the target for the home team.
Former Hibs captain Ian Murray’s home outfit couldn’t extend their superb run of five wins in six going into the game, which saw Lions defender Watson enter the fray as a second-half substitute.
He said: “I feel good. Obviously its good to get the win but I’m disappointed with the sloppy goals we conceded. At 4-1 up the game should just finish, but four goals away from home was good.

That hit from Morton was better than I remembered it. Nice bit of play to work the chance for himself. Until recently I wasn't that impressed with him, seemed to want to do it all himself when he got the ball, but he has impressed more in recent weeks. Wouldn't be upset to see him start if required at the weekend.

A corker from Jordan Morton who seems to have upped his game over the last month or two. Hopefully the injuries we got on Saturday won't be too bad (especially Scougs) but it's good to know that we have the likes of Morton ready to drop in to the team if need be.

Scouggs wasn't fit enough for the Scotland u21's so he's a major doubt for this weekend.
