No game as such next weekend but instead, we've entered the Ian Younger Sixes Tournament hosted by Queens Park SFC through at Lesser Hampden. It's been on the go for a few years now and is spoken very highly of by all those who've been previously.
In short, it's a bit of a mini, one-day WorldNet but in 6 aside form. Games are just a straight 14 minutes, played under usual football rules other than it's underarm throw ins and no offside. All games will be reffed by a qualified referee.
The draw will be made during the week where we'll be placed in a group of either 4 or 5. Like WorldNet, top two go through to the main competition knock-out round with the bottom 2/3 going into the plate.
The first games will kick-off at 12pm with the finals scheduled to be played at 5pm. Teams have to be at Lesser Hampden no later than 11.30am to get registered and make sure everyone is in plenty of time for the first game.
The bar at Lesser Hampden will be open throughout as will the onsite Café for rolls/burgers and what not. The presentation will take place after the finals in the bar which will remain open until midnight and will be showing the Champions League final if there's interest from anyone in staying.
Teams can have a maximum of 10 players registered on the day (minimum of 6 obviously). Cost per team is £50 so will range from £8.50 per head to £5 a head depending on the exact number we take.
We'll probably use the yellow kit (less likely to clash with others) and I'll grab 10 bibs from work in another colour that we can use if there does happen to be a clash (save dirtying two kits on the day).
So, can you all post up availability and driving intentions for this one please. If we end up with more than 10 available, I'll just fire all the names in a hat and draw them all out in order with first 10 going and the rest in back-up order.
DEADLINE OF TUESDAY NIGHT SO I CAN GET US REGISTERED IN PLENTY TIME.
